i got it off adopt a stripper really fast & used the vlc to view it. ever since then there have been major issues trying to pass the damn thing along. my movie maker program won't even clip it. fucking format.

Funny how the whole codec (code/decode) thing works. See, you need the authoring codec as well as the viewing codec if you wish to modify video encoded with said codec. Bottom line, FUCK VLC! All you need is the proper codec, and if you're too lazy to find that, you don't deserve to see the video anyway. And by find, I mean look or ask someone who knows.

the best part is with the vlc i was able to view the videos that i was having problems with last year.
i say fuck codecs. i got so annoyed last year i didnt want to deal with it again.

Funny how frustrating the the things we don't understand can be. It's also pretty sad that VLC can be a popular player because you fuckers are too lazy to find a few codecs. That player is positively awful.

VLC is much better than WMP - period. I've never had problems with it, but I've had problems trying to install codecs because WMP doesn't like to conform, not to mention it loves to eat up system resources because it calls home to tell Bill Gates what I'm watching & when.
yeah, VLC works well and it's pretty much hassle-free, but it sucks...

i dont know why everyone else has all these problems. when i got my new pc, i went and downloaded the xvid and divx codecs and havent had a problem since. i think you guys may has some learning disabilities or something

sorry that vlc gave issues. Xvid is real finicky. if people still have issues, i can link you to help areas.
I actually use BS player, and find it much betta. even has nicer skins

First of all, get ZoneAlarm and you can stop any program from talking to the host. Also, there's an option to turn off rights management.
If you can't master installing codecs, you should probably just put your computer back in its box and send it back to the manufacturer. You're not worthy.

I've installed codecs many times, most times they work fine - others not so fine. All I know is since I started using VLC I havent had a problem watching any video file outside of a realmedia clip - but realmedia sucks so thats understandable. Use whatever makes you happy, I don't really care - I gave an option, I know it works.
