- Kid A - 02-08-2002 Don't ya just hate it when people push your buttons? I couldn't care less what you listen to. I just like fuckin' with ya. Being mainstream doesn't make a band good, but neither does being on an indie label. Music is good because it's good, not because of what label it's on, or who listens to it. - Keyser Soze - 02-08-2002 Whatever backpeddler. - Brokenjaw - 02-09-2002 Quote:Underground versus mainstream Well the only thing I can add to this is that 95% of the music I listen to is from underground musicians. When I say underground.. I mean underground... Hendrix, The Doors, Joplin, The Beatles(almost all of them are underground) so on and so on. I just cant really get into the music that is played now adays, maybee I am close minded, but it just does not have the heart and soul of the music from the mid to late 60's early 70's. - The Sleeper - 02-09-2002 Quote:Hendrix, The Doors, Joplin, The Beatles(almost all of them are underground) so on and so on. I could be wrong, but I think the term "underground" refers to obscure music that is not played on radio or MTV and people have to actively seek out. Everyone knows the Doors, Joplin, Hendrix, etc. I wasn't around during that era so maybe they started off underground and when everyone realized how good they are they became popular. But at this point, I would consider those groups mainstream (especially the Beatles). - Brokenjaw - 02-09-2002 Quote:I could be wrong, but I think the term "underground" refers to obscure music that is not played on radio or MTV and people have to actively seek out.
