so you are saying you were wrong?

- Keyser Soze - 08-14-2003

No, I think i'd be nuts to draft 3 RBs in a row. I don't subscribe to his strategy, but I thought it was an interesting article.

- Galt - 08-14-2003

I wouldn't do three RB in a row, but I'll do two RB, then either a WR or TE depending on who's available in rounds 3 and 4. Then another WR and RB in rounds 5/6. Then a QB in 7, then defense in 8, then more WR and RB for the rest of the draft and one more decent QB. whatever K is left in the last round.

But if you have a late pick, like 8th overall. Don't you think you're better off taking Harrison and then a RB the next 2?

- Galt - 08-14-2003

Nope. I'd rather grab Edge and Henry and then get Moulds or Burress in the third round. The dropoff from Harrison to Burress isn't as great as the dropoff that you would face going from a first round back to a third round back for the simple reason that everyone picks RBs first. You can wait in WR because they'll be around longer and you'll get more value.

- Keyser Soze - 08-14-2003

You think i'd be better off with Edge/Henry/Burress than Harrison/Dillion(Jamal or Taylor)/Green(or Trung)

- Galt - 08-14-2003

absolutely.

- Keyser Soze - 08-14-2003

i dont see edge being available when that second pick comes around in a 12 team draft, thats 8 picks after my first pick. possibly taylor or dillon. you think Edge/Taylor or Dillon/Burress is still better than Harrison/Dillion(Jamal or Taylor)/Green(or Trung) ?

- Galt - 08-14-2003

would you trade Harrison and Trung Canidate for Edge or Henry and Eric Moulds?

I would.

assumes you get whoever you want with your second pick (lewis, taylor, whoever)

The point is: You can get a much better WR in the third round than you can get a RB in the third round.

would you take 3 RBs in a row?

- Galt - 08-14-2003

No. Not unless someone really good slipped to me. I posted my draft strategy already

Keyser, check out this draft:

12 Team league, like the one you're speaking of.

Note that by the time the guy with the 8th overall pick gets to the third round, RB choices are down to Mack, Barlow, Thomas, Dunn, Hambrick. But you could still get a Ward, Toomer, or Burress at WR, or any TE you want.

- Galt - 08-16-2003

Raging Buffaloes has the best team in that league. Followed by Moving the Chains and Armadillos
Dos Equis could improve greatly with a ton of trade bait with 5 starting running backs.
PFunk All Stars is an idiot. Drafting the QB/WR/RB trio of a team in the first four rounds. Especially an injured QB and a platoon back.

- Sir O - 08-17-2003

Yeah, ya get a homer in every draft.

At least my team gets the Galt Seal Of Approval.

Still not as good as Galtette's team...

- Galt - 08-17-2003

What? Hunh?

Why wasnt i invited??? :-(
