Speaking of Les Claypool, if you haven't heard his and Phish's cover of Gin And Juice, you should definitely check it out. Hilarious stuff...

As much as I'd like to give credit to Phish for that spectacular cover of Gin & Juice, they've never actually played it. It was mislabeled years ago on Napster and that copy continues to circulate. I used to think it was Blues Traveller because the guy singing it sounds similar to John Popper, but alas...

It's actually an amazing Bluegrass band called The Gourds. They cover lots of different tunes, including rap songs. Search for more of their stuff through filesharing programs.

Listening to the mix I made Gonzo. He still hasn't heard it. :33:

- Sir O - 06-16-2003

Interesting. I'd never even heard it until the other day, when I downloaded what I thought was every Claypool/Primus song ever made - something like 400 tracks, and that was one of them. It seemed to fit with Les' sense of humor, so I had no reason to doubt it.

Thanks for the heads up though, I'll have to seek out more of their stuff.
