I constantly warn my little sister that the more time she spends online, typing in that format, the more she'll forget everything she ever learned in school about proper grammar and spelling and become a complete moron. I'm not that direct although perhaps I should be.
To some, it's just a joke. For others, it's the perfect facade for when they don't know how to spell or form a proper sentence.
