Quote:Tell you what; Let me know of any pre-Godfather movie that you see is going to be on TV (or any of the cable channels) that you would rank 3 1/2 stars or above. I'll TIVO it and watch it and give you my honest feedback. I'll freely admit if it's a good movie. Though it most likely will not be. The more advanced notice, the better.

OK...

Tonight on TCM:

12:00 - Dark Passage (1947) - IMDB

2:00 - To Have and Have Not (1944) - IMDB

Thursday on TCM:

Friday on TCM:

9:30 PM - Love Affair (1939) - IMDB

11:00 - Father of the Bride (1950) - IMDB

Friday night/Sat morning on AMC:

2:45 AM - Rosemary's Baby (1968) - IMDB

Saturday on AMC:

11:30 AM - High Noon (1952) - IMDB

Saturday on TCM:

2:00 PM - The 49th Parallel (1941) - IMDB

4:00 - The Bedford Incident (1965) - IMDB

8:00 - The Lady from Shanghai (1947) - IMDB

The original, I've never actually seen it, I just put it up here based on reputation. It stars Spencer Tracy, so it can't be that bad...

One of the best of Film Noir genre is Out of the Past. Great movie, don't miss it...unless you are sleeping at 4am on a Saturday. I wish I had tivo so I could watch it again. Double Indemnity is also a great one.

AMC is showing Stalag 17 and The Third Man later this month. They're also showing Scream 2 and Final Analysis (WTF?).

TCM's schedule is fucking awesome this week, but the rest of the month looks pretty dull overall.

One thing that I always noticed in those old movies is that the dialogue seems unnaturally rushed. I don't really know how to explain it. It just always reminded me that the actors were working off a script. They were in a rush to get their lines out, so as soon as another actor finished their lines, they'd spit out theirs. It just seems so amateur, like you'd see in a high school play.

PS. Lauren Becall was very masculine looking,
