So, did anyone else get one? I can't believe how good the quality of screen and graphics are. The battery seems to last longer than everyone was complaining about. I did have to return the first one I bought because of a single dead pixel. The online is difficult to get a solid connection to. Overall a beautiful piece of technology.

- Goatweed - 03-28-2005

I hear theres a lot of issues with dead pixels, but its covered under Sony - you just gotta bring it back.

I saw some dude playing a game on one this morning, it looked amazingly great. I'll wait till the bugs are out of it before I get one tho.

- Danked - 03-28-2005

I've got one. Still sealed. I'm waiting for it to sell out hopefully and I can make a few bucks selling it on ebay. I'm going to wait a year to buy one for myself.

- Keyser Soze - 03-28-2005

I have a sealed one as well with the same intentions. They plan on stopping the production after the first run is exhausted for a period of time to drive up demand even more.

- Galt - 03-28-2005

What is it? I've heard of them. Is it just much much much better version of a Gameboy? Or is it a portable computer, MP3 player, web browser, phone, blah blah blah

- Keyser Soze - 03-28-2005

portable playstation, plays movies as well, mp3s, supports memory sticks as well as UMD disks. amazing video quality.

heres a more comprehesive review:

Picking one up this weekend. Have been looking forward to this for awhile

- LZMF1 - 03-28-2005

it's a neat "toy"......not really meant for kids.

if you have XLINK Kai you can play online against others provided that you have a wireless router.

i got gretzky NHL and lumines.

i'm still waiting for my 1gb memory stick duo to get here. the 32 mb one that comes with it is a joke.

- Galt - 03-28-2005

Once I start travelling more, I'll probably get one. I can only watch so many movies on my laptop

- LZMF1 - 03-28-2005

i have already found 5 different utilities for the PSP.

2 of them convert video files to the correct format for the PSP

another allows you to enter a URL and it takes pics from the site and uploads them to your PSP

and 2 of them are simple programs that manage the files on your memory stick.

just do a google search for PSP programs

- Keyser Soze - 03-28-2005

nice find LZ, the only 1GB card ive found is the sandisk one for around $100, are there others. if im reading correctly it only uses the memory stick duo style card. is that correct? not sure what XLINK Kai is but i was able to play the NBA game online all the way through against someone this afternoon over my wireless router.

- Keyser Soze - 03-28-2005

LZ, can you provide direct links? im getting a bunch of paint shop pro websites.

- Galt - 03-28-2005

Let's get Sleeper one of these for free!

- LZMF1 - 03-28-2005

XLink Kai it's a tunneling program that allows you to play any LAN based games online. it works with the PSP, PS2, XBOX, and nintendo gamecube.

some people hate these tunneling programs because for the most part....they suck but this one works quite well.

PSP-Vault
PSP Crazy

PSP Connect this site just shows you how to do shit with the PSP and has videos to download for the PSP

nice, i converted and transferred a vid with 3GP already. so easy.

- LZMF1 - 03-28-2005

pspvideo9 is much nicer and just as easy

- Keyser Soze - 03-28-2005

nice, looks cool.

i see someone hacked wipeout pure to let you browse the web. does sony have plans eventually for an official browser?

- LZMF1 - 03-28-2005

it has been rumored that there will be:

a phone add-on
a keyboard add-on
a possible 50 gig HD for the PSP
a camera add-on
and the list goes on and on.

but yeah if you have wipeout pure and you are using mozilla firefox with the addition of some plugins and a few settings changes you can use the browser in the game

when i tried to run pspvideo9 after installing it i got this....
