AOLs online tv shows - HedCold - 03-15-2006

AOL finally launched their free tv service. i'm watching an episode of growing pains right now and its pretty sweet. few things though
1. need to use windows xp
2. need to use IE 6
3. need to have media player 10
then some aol plug in installs. i'm sure if theres something weird going on with the plug in people will be bitching about it in a few days

anyway, i'm getting my full bandwidth dl (5 Mb/sec) and you can start watching before it fully downloads.

there doesn't seem to be any ads in the show yet, i'm 7 1/2 minutes in

i hope this leads to other companies doing the same thing, i don't mind watching something streaming and possible with ads as long as its free and easy to use, and decently quality, which this is

well its pretty simple to find the file downloaded to the computer. i wonder how long until someone figures out how to crack the DRM

- Danked - 03-15-2006

I'm amazed that one of the first things you went for was an episode of Growing Pains.

- HedCold - 03-15-2006

its one of the first ones they advertised. i went to get the head of the class pilot to but it didn't seem to work Sad

- HollywoodJewMoses - 03-15-2006

they have histeria, sweet

- HedCold - 03-15-2006

and welcome back kotter!

- HedCold - 03-15-2006

it creates a text file that looks like this
Code:
<ASX version = "3.0">
<Entry>
<Param Name = "ad" Value = "false" />
<Param Name = "moid" Value = ":kid:aol_hqv:aol_hiq:moid:0a0fe299-2ae9-c654-793a-6bdadff6194d" />
<Ref href = "urn:kid:aol_hqv:aol_hiq:moid:0a0fe299-2ae9-c654-793a-6bdadff6194d" />
</Entry>
</ASX>
i wonder if they switch the ad value to true, if we'll be able to switch it back

- GonzoStyle - 03-15-2006

remind you of your childhood.

- Goatweed - 03-15-2006

- GonzoStyle - 03-15-2006

that's sad

- Goatweed - 03-15-2006

whats sadder is we were poor, so the spoon was really stainless steel.

- GonzoStyle - 03-15-2006

I meant sad for your uncle, having to scrounge around in your awful asshole!
