This story bothered me.... - Gooch - 12-08-2006

Not much news affects me these days. Mostly its just cyclical negative crap that is either commercialized, partisan, both or just plain drivel. Whether it's Aniston/Vaughn breaking up, or Iraq still sucking...I just pay it no mind.

But this story really bothered me.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/12/07/missing.family/index.html">http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/12/07/missin ... index.html</a><!-- m -->

I found myself constantly going back to Cnet.com for updates on it. I had known him through his product reviews since I do use cnet quite often. He was also on TechTV (now defunct).

When I read he died, it actually made me feel bad. So rare these days. I'm not sure if it's the fact I'm getting married, or simply b/c its such a conundrum of a situation to make a decision like he did. But something about it truly niggles at me still b/c would would you do if you were him? Would you have left to find help or stayed (keep in mind he was already stuck there 9 days).

If I worked at CNET, I would have had GPS in the car.

- HedCold - 12-08-2006

so your family would have known their longitude and latitude while being stuck?

- The Jays - 12-08-2006

so I wouldn't have made a wrong turn at Snowed In Back Road

- HedCold - 12-08-2006

from what i read they were warned ahead of time about the danger, plus there were signs up or something, but went ahead anyway

- Paper Boy - 12-08-2006
