Talk about poor management. In an attempt to deflect attention from his own inadequacies as commissioner, Bud Selig annouced that some chump owner is not going to be able to make payroll this month and may be forced to close up shop. The dick then proceeds to fuck with everyone and not reveal which team it is and throws out this bone "its not who you would expect".

Well folks, who do you think the team is and how fucked up do you think it is that a team could be forced to shut down because they couldnt pay their bills.

Unfuckingbelievable.

The business of baseball these days is almost as bizarre as the games (or exhibitions) they play.

Sorry Mets, time to pack it up

Dude, you are sooo behind. The team in question has already secured a loan and all players will be paid on the 15th.

The team in question is none other then the defending world champions, The Arizona Diamondbacks. The same team that was bailed out by heavy loans in January along with the Devil Rays.

It's fucking ridiculous. The accounting of these teams is worse than Enron or Worldcom. Where the fuck is the money going!?

- Galt - 07-12-2002

I bet its Colorado

- The Sleeper - 07-12-2002

maybe it's Texas, with the A-Rod contract and all.

Newark Bears

- Arpikarhu - 07-12-2002

they announced that it was the tigers and its all alot of bullshit posturing anyway.

- Galt - 07-12-2002

The Scary Bears have no fans in baseball

- PollyannaFlower46 - 07-12-2002

I heard they were also speculating it was the Mariners.

- Keyser Soze - 07-12-2002

It was actually resolved by the time I posted this but it made for a better thread if they were still in danger of folding. Even though they were bailed out, they are still on shaky financial ground and are a team previously not mentioned to contract.

I was also thinking texas not only with a-rod but juan gonzalez, palmiero, and pudge plus their play has been anything but exciting this year. I don't know what attendance is but couldn't be great.

You know if it wasn't the Expos that were in such deep shit and let's just pick another random team like hmm the Brewers. I wonder what that ass Selig would do then.
