Brandon Webb

He lost tonight going against Cy Young contender Jason Schmidt, but gave up just 3 ER in 7 innings, raising his ERA to 2.57.

Dontrelle Willis is the most hyped rookie by far, but his numbers are just not nearly as good. He's been mediocre in the second half.

Scott Podsednik is the best rookie batter in the NL, and is worth mentioning, but he doesn't have a shot.

Jason Phillips and Jose Reyes have also been solid, playing for the craptacular Mets.

So yeah, Webb, and it's not even close.

Yes. You are correct. I have jumped off the Dontrelle bandwaggon (aka the D-Train) and Brandon Webb should most assuredly win the ROY.

AL's should go to Berroa, but idiots will vote for Matsui just like they voted for Ichiro and Sasaki. It's bullshit. He's fucking 30. He shouldn't win ROY

Even if Matsui were a 22 year old straight out of the minors, I'd still take Berroa over him. Though it's very, very close.

I don't really have a problem with giving the ROY to someone who's played in Japan though. If they don't want guys like Ichiro or Matsui to be eligible, they should just change the rules.
