Ever see that Eddie Murphy skit on SNL when he reports that Lincoln forgot to sign the empancipation proclimation?

yeah....

Quote:Owens Loses Right to Free Agency After Missing Deadline

Terrell Owens is still under contract to the San Francisco 49ers after he missed a deadline to void his deal, the team said Thursday.

The running back's agent plans to appeal after the NFL management council said the four-time Pro Bowler did not file paperwork soon enough to become an unrestricted free agent.

Owens was one of several players who had to file their contracts by the new deadline, which was delayed 10 days for players who signed deals before the league's collective bargaining agreement of 2001 went into effect.

Dennis Northcutt, a receiver with Cleveland, was also late filing. The Browns said he must stay with the team after his agent failed to void the final three years of his contract.

By missing the deadline, Owens is under contract to San Francisco through 2006.

The 49ers released running back Garrison Hearst, offensive tackle Derrick Deese and defensive lineman Sean Moran Thursday.

I'm beginning to see part of the problem. When you keep talking about yourself in the third person pretty soon nobody can remember who the fuck you are:

I am a 49er fan so i think it's good now we can use him in a trade

- Keyser Soze - 02-27-2004

what a silly negro!!!

- GonzoStyle - 02-27-2004

Yeah now if he wont get it over turned, which he probably won't. The chances of the 49'ers keeping him are there but extremely slim, so he has to wait for them to trade him, so now all the teams who wanted him have to throw in extras and that may push some teams away.

I heard on ESPN, I forget which team but they were negotiating a proposal for him at the time the news broke and as soon as they heard they called it off.

maybe he should replace that sharpie with a palm pilot.

badum chhhh

I think it'd be funny if the 49er's tried to get Keyshawn for Owens...it would just make me laugh...I have no doubt this trade would NEVER happen..

- The Sleeper - 02-28-2004

it's near impossible to make a player for player trade due to the strict cap

- GonzoStyle - 02-28-2004

They should trade him for a kit kat.
