is dead :-(

- Arpikarhu - 05-10-2004

i am very saddened by this news. i really liked him.

- GonzoStyle - 05-10-2004

He died of lung cancer, he was 73 and one of the few people who made being a jew a cool thing.

- HedCold - 05-10-2004

i have no idea who he is, but the article i saw said he was 76

- GonzoStyle - 05-10-2004

I stand corrected, 76.

and thats the problem with you fuckin bastards today, no appreciation for the true greats but you get your panties in a bunch for a series finale of a show that shoulda ended 10 years ago.

- Arpikarhu - 05-10-2004

alan king was a genius and if you dont know who he is then you deserve nothing good in your life.

How can you not know who Alan King is?

- GonzoStyle - 05-10-2004

At the very least you gotta remember him from Casino.

- Goatweed - 05-10-2004

these kids today!!

- drusilla - 05-10-2004

at least he didn't drown in his hotel room

- Keyser Soze - 05-10-2004

it didnt seem so old, he was full of vitality. the last time i saw him in person, he was introducing Jon Stewart at Carnegie Hall, which i'm sure was a huge honor for Jon.

In addition to being one of the greatest stand up comedians of all time, He was great in Night and The City, one of Deniro's forgotten movies and in Pacino's Author! Author!

- LyricalGomez - 05-10-2004

That sucks. His work in The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars will not be forgotten

- Ken'sPen - 05-10-2004

my favorite old jew comedian is......
I don't remember his name,
he was thin, with a big nose,
made a lot of funny sounds....
I think he was on laugh in from time to time....
can anyone name him, given this very sketchy description?

it was NOT Paulson, the guy who ran for president.

- Keyser Soze - 05-10-2004

the guy who looks like the guy on Law and Order.

- Keyser Soze - 05-10-2004

Mort Sahl?

- Ken'sPen - 05-10-2004

nope,
can't come up with a name,
the only one in my head is Marty Feldman,
now I know it's not Marty Feldman,
but maybe a marty something,
or something feldman.

You never realize how truly great many of them are until they have gone...
