| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01 | Huge win tonight. Puts them back in front of the Devils and keeps them in the chase for the Division Title. Last team to finish dead last in the confrence then win a divison title was the Canadiens in 35-36. Now we have to root for the Rangers tomorrow night against the Flyers. With a Flyers loss and an Isles win Sunday will mean alot. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | Very big win. Nice to see the line of Kvasha, Scatch, and Miler coming up big time tonight, combining for 2 or 3 goals I believe. Snowy did well in another key start for him - I hope we don't need him in the playoffs, but it's always nice to have a good, solid backup to fall back upon. And yes, we stepped over the Devils once again, hopefully tomorrow night we can further the gap a little and close in on Philly. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | I was wrong on my last post, Toronto and Ottawa could not have gotten the #2 seed. Also, Teq, we don't have to fully root for the Rangers tomorrow, since if Philly ties, and the Isles win in regulation Sunday, the two would be tied in points, but the Isles would have more wins, thus then winning the division. Great game tonight, another win in Tampa, Hammer's 100th career goal, giving the Isles 3 d-men with 10+ goals. I do hope the Flyers lose tomorrow though, and the Devs win tomorrow night, because then the Isles would play the Flyers in the first round if they win the division Sunday (Devs would get 6th, Flyers 7th), but the Isles would have home ice :-D We shall see. I love it when this time of year actually means something for the Isles! Let's Go Isles!!!!! edit: by the way, we're in 5th place right now :) Long live the Gonzo sigs! Thanks Amy! But, hey, since the game means nothing to the Rangers, it makes it only "absolutely intolerable to bear" instead of "I think I'm gonna shoot myself." Imagine if they were fighting for the 8th playoff spot still and we had to root for them? AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Anyway, even if the Rangers lose, it could be another way to torment my Ranger fan friends cuz their team sucks so much, they can't even win when REAL hockey fans root for them :-p Now, if you don't mind, I'm gonna go snort a line of coke in honor of my favorite hockey player for today, Theo Fleury. 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. | Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | i have mixed feelings about todays game. i don't want to see the Islanders lose a game heading into the playoffs, but the matchup as a 6 seed sure looks better than the 4-5 matchup. Toronto is playing some good hockey. I just think Carolina makes for an easier first round matchup. Either way we are just a few days away from some playoff hockey....LET'S GO ISLANDERS!!!! Ziggy....do you know for sure what day of the week the first home game will be, now that we know it will be game 3???? | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | Onehung, I gotta give them credit for winning yesterday; actually that was more than a win, that was a fucking slaughter; but the point remains. They were very inconsistent down the stretch, as you say. I'd watch out for the Habs in the first round, they'll be on fire and really ready to win, especially with Koivu back and raring to go. Joint, I believe the schedule will be out either this evening or tomorrow at some point (NHL2nite season wrap-up at 7 might have an exact answer), but my best guess is that game 3, home game A, will be either Sunday the 21, or Monday the 22. Have fun at the game. I'm hoping the series goes at least 6, cuz I have a ticket for home game C, and as much as I'd love an Isles sweep, I also wanna see a playoff game - I've never been to one! Hammer, Scatch and Lappy all with huge goals, Ozzie coming up big to tie Smitty for the Isles all-time record with 32 wins in a season. The game was on ESPN2, meaning I got to watch it up here :-D (although I misse the 3rd cuz of work, but I taped it). Let's go to the playoffs! LET'S GO ISLANDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s. I believe I now officially hate the Regulation tie rule, because if the Isles had beaten the Flyers in regulation on Feb 12 instead of with 8.7 secs left in OT, they would've won the division (of course, if all the OT losses were regular losses, the Isles would've been a whole game behind the Flyers, but oh well, c'est la vie - we be goin to da playoffs anyway :) ) Long live the Gonzo sigs! | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01 | Holy shit what a great game to go to. Sat in section 301 right next to a bunch of Flyer fans. They were rude obnoxious assholes. What else can you expect from pathetic fans. It was great to see 30 people get up and leave when LaPointe scored the empty netter. I have never heard a place sound so god damn loud. I can't begin to explain how the atmosphere buzzing around the Coliseum was. It was simply amazing. Nest step Toronto. Here is a fun litle fact. The only matchup in the east where the higher seeded team has won the season series is in the Boston-Montreal series. Where Boston leads 3-2-0. | ||||
