That won't happen this year because we finally have leaders and legitimate stars and superb coaching. Is anyone else SHOCKED Ozzie is doing so good? I thought he was over the hill 2 years ago. It's not uncommon for most of the people to leave immediately after the game, especially after overtime on a weeknight when they have to go to work the next day. In an overtime game, it also isn't unusual for the crowd to wait a few minutes before the 3 stars are released. I just want to know what the problem is with the Coliseum? Everyone says how bad it is, but can anyone give a specific, personal bad experience they have had that was directly caused by the venue? Yes, we all know about the scoreboard on the ice (Which has since been replaced with a state-of-the-art scoreboard.) But if you never knew about that, would you go? I've been from the press box to the locker rooms to every section of seats and I can't find an outstanding problem. If there are people who won't see a game because of the arena, then I don't want them supporting my team to begin with. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Tequila, obviously the Yankees kept the crowd down, but I'm not sure people will return so fast. (I hope they do). Islanders management has to work hard to fill the arena for a variety of reasons; winning doesn't bring back fans as fast as it should, and arenas need some corporate purchases to really fill house; those corporate sales go slowly.  | ||||

The atmosphere is great, the fans rock the joint when it's full, and everything there is just classic. The only bad thing I can think of is the obstructed view in the last rows behind the goals, but that's it. I hope if/when they build a new arena that they keep the locker rooms in the same general area. I don't want them to come out behind the bench like lots of new teams.
