| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Oct. 00  | Ok these steps should teach you how to make a basic sig pic. This will be posted in GD and OT with permission from Opak, so don't "Dillon" me. 1. Sign up for a website provider. In this case I will use Geocities (Yes it still can work) 2. Familiarize yourself with uploading files on Geocities! 3. Get an image editor; in this I will use Photoshop 6.0. Most image editors have the same basic tools that I will use here. 4. Obtain an image that you’ll want to use as the centerpiece of your sig. Here is the one I will use:  5. Sig pics must be no more than 500 pixels; my selected picture is a lot more than that. 6. To change the size of your picture, go to “IMAGE†at the top of the screen. Then under “IMAGE†select “Image Size.† 7. After selecting “Image Size,†a new window will pop up. 8. Make sure that the two top drop down menus on the upper right are set to “Pixels.†9. Set the width to 214 and the height to 280.  10. You will now see that your image has shrunk. 11. It is now time to crop out the part of the image that you wish to use in your sig. 12. In your toolbar (usually situated on the left) you will see a little icon that looks like a rope. 13. To make the selecting easier, right click on the rope and select the “Polygonal Lasso Tool.† 14. Now its time to make the selection. Click where you want to start to make the selection.  15. Once you have your selection, press ctrl-c to copy the selection. 16. Now’s time to create a new image to paste your selection onto. 17. Create a new image, which is smaller than 500 pixels, but can accommodate your selection. 18. Now its time to paste your selection into the picture. 19. Press ctrl-v to paste the selection onto your new image. 20. Position the new layer by clicking on it and dragging it wherever you want on the image. 21. You will now notice that there are some areas of your selection that do not need to be there. To get rid of these areas click the eraser in your toolbar and make the appropriate selections.  22. To add text to your image, click the big “T†in your toolbar. 23. Select the area in which you want there to be text.  24. Type in the text you want. 25. Congratulations you sick eff! You have just made your sig pic! 26. Press ctrl-shift-s to save your pic. 27. Under the save window, make sure the file type is listed as a .jpg. 28. Upload your pic to geocities. 29. To add your picture to your sig, go to your profile, and under signature type in 30. If you are using geocities, replace the “www†with “fp† I might add on to this later with instructions for Paint Shop Pro and maybe even MS Paint for you poor effs stuck with it. | ||||
