I think he's brilliant and Jane's is one of my favorite bands of all time. Maybe i just dont get it, but i never understood peoples attraction to Janes addiction. Likewise, i've also always found bands like Nirvana and Radiohead WAY over-rated, and they seem to have the same loyal fanbase who tout them as the most influential bands on earth. I lean more towards really aggressive music like Pantera and Nothingface, but i really appreciate good songwriters, not just musicians,whatever style they play. I was blessed with the awesome experience of working on a film with/about Jane's Addiction a couple of years ago, and the culmination of it all was tripping on E with Perry at a house party in Park City, Utah at the Sundance/Slamdance film festival in '98. Perry's whacked as hell fuckout and DEFINITELY lives in his own parallel universe. However, he is one of the most intelligent people I've ever met, and if you read between the lines, he has something important to say. I'm not sure exactly what it is, though. He is very studied and highly educated in the spirit world, far beyond the comprehension of anyone who hasn't made a fuckload of cash, thus giving them the time, freedom and inclination to delve into those realms. He's completely tripped-out to no end, and the most fascinating person I've ever met. | ||||
