| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01  | When syndication started I felt the show dipped a little bit and it started to get back on track before the 9/11 tragedt. The show slipped after the tragedy (although I do think they did a great job with it), but O&A are not to blame for it and did a great job under the circumstances. O&A have been great the last few days and I think this is the best they have sounded since syndication started. | ||||

No jim norton. the show is flowing like it used to with ant feeding off of opie comments and making it into a 20 min. bit.I like jim as a comic but his type of comedy is better played in a club then on the radio. | ||||

I missed the last hour and a half of the show yesterday, after Opie broke his mic when he got pissed (College does suck when you have classes), even though they dumped part of it the Jackson bit was hilarious | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Internal conflicts with management almost ALWAYS mean more gooder radio. When Opie gets angry, he's at his best (IMO). Ant gets angry as well, but has much better control and gets in the subtle lines as oppossed to breaking things. quote: Why must everyone bash Norton and make him the goat for any and all problems that there might seem to be with the show? I don't think it has anything to do with Norton not being on in a while. I like Jim and I think he adds a lot to the show. Don't look for a BUT here, you won't find one. ;)  | ||||

And I agree he's one of the funnier funny-men out there, and obviously his really good material doesn't play on the show due to the vulgar nature that it has, but I still think he adds a nice texture to the show. I was more taken by the fact that the thread started as "the shows been better", and "no Norton on the show" popped up as a defense - which as I'm sure you and everyone else knows accounts for a huge amount of threads in GD. It just seems to me that Norton always catches heat if the show isn't living up to everyone's expectations. I'm not trying to pick a fight with you. I'm saying that Norton hasn't been on, but neither have Dice or Patty or the retarded L&S - all of whom I feel take away from the show, especially when it seems like they're on most of the time in one form or another. I wish we could hear Norton do some of the stuff he does in the clubs, but the FCC won't even let them play WIMP anymore, let alone some of Norton's better material. | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | I thought they were great during and after 9/11. They did a great service to the people in the NY area. Norton gets really annoying at times and uses the same material over and over. They are better without him. His incessant plugging also gets annoying. I don't think the show has been sounding better lately. It's been kind of stale in the last week or 2. Vanilla Ice and the Spin Doctors guy come to mind as examples. Also, Opie's constant whining has really dragged the show down lately. And I'm not only talking about the whining about management. Opie has been whining about everything in the past few weeks.
