Well, okay, maybe not impossible, but here's my plight:

I want to spread the O&A virus to my brother in Canada as a Christmas gift. So in amongst my shopping at Amazon.com I decide that I'll grab a copy there along with Lynch's CD (Amazon offers a saving if you buy both).

Well, that's all well and good, but I look at the shipping time on the thing?

SPECIAL ORDER, 4-6 WEEKS (!!!)

Gay!

So, here's my question: Obviously Amazon.com is out of the running, but does anyone know of any online sites where you can grab a copy of Demented World that will actually ship when I buy it?

I can only hope that their next CD will be a little more widely available!

Then the other question is, does any money from the sale of the CD's actually go to O&A or does it go to WAAF? If it's the latter, I'll just burn some MP3's on a CD-R and send those off, but I thought it would be more fair if I actually purchased the thing legitimately IF the money goes to O&A.

I bought it at a Wiz. Couldn't you buy and ship it yourself?
Also seen at CD World and a couple other places.

Yeah, the only thing is I'm in Pennsyltucky. I am wondering if the new markets... er "cities" would actually have the DW CD on the shelves?

(You see, I'm trying for the fourth year in a row to actually avoid going to the mall to Christmas shop - it's much more fulfilling doing it all online)

You'd be surprised where you'll find it. I came across it at a couple of stores in my area, both The Wiz & Tower Records had it in stock.

I never see it in Newbury Comics anymore, where it originally sold all its copies a few yrs ago. Although, they did have some DW shirts left a couple months ago.

I dont think O&A get anything from the CD anymore.

Yeah, that was one of the main things I was trying to figure out. I remember them saying that they had the big cardboard check that they presented to "the schwoogies" because cetain revenues from the sales were going to "charity" etc. etc.

Does anyone else have insight as the whether they get royalty checks or anything?

My guess is that the record company still isn't giving them their royalties, but I honestly don't know for sure. But I bet the bastards still pay Harry Connick, Jr.
