Anthony, Anthony! So, so sad!

Some people use their celebrity to get great tickets to the concert, some people use their celebrity to get the good table in the restaurant, Anthony though? Uses his celebrity to level to 25 in Everquest.

Hehehehe, too funny!

Can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I were addicted to EverCrack I 'spose. :)

If I was Anthony, i'd make a tank (probably a warrior) and give out my name and server on the air and ask for some power-leveling.

He'd be leveled up in 1/3 the time it really takes.

Anthony played Friday from 1pm til 5:30am. Then again Saturday from 1pm til 7am (with a break of about 4 hours for dinner and a movie) then again Sunday from 1 til 11 or so. That's over 40 hours. The whole time he was chasing this guy from Dallas collecting what the guy was killing. He went from level 20 to 25. Now what I want to know is: Was he cheating or not? I believe he was, he says its part of the game. What do you think?

Not really. Theres more drastic ways to level, like a druid keeping a damage shield and regen refreshed on a tank.

EQ is very very hard to cheat at. I should know because it got my second account banned, hehe.

EQ gives me a headache because it takes a LONG time to level. Ant is really gonna start breaking more keyboards when he gets to hell levels (levels 30, 35, 40, 45).

40 hours on a computer and not one post on OA.com... I bumped him from Level 1 Newbie to Level 25 Administrator..., now that's an impressive jump

Yes... I believe he was cheating... but is that wrong?

How about a positive LSD story, that would be newsworthy. Don't you think? Anybody think that? Just once, to hear a positive LSD story. "Today, a young man on acid, realised that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves... here's Tom with the weather." -- Bill Hicks

Now having not played the game myself, it might be a little difficult to declare myself as any sort of authority, but the arm chair Judge Wapner in me asks how that cannot be considered cheating to some degree?

I mean is he really earning those levels or is someone for all intents and purposes giving them to him outright?

Isn't this like saying to someone that you can knock out Mike Tyson with one punch, only to find out that yes you can, but only if a gang of thugs kidnaps him, duct tapes him to a pole, knocks him silly with a sock full of nickels and then lets you at him to finish him off with your one punch?

This is the man lecturing Paul Williams about addiction? :)

I guess personal experience is going to start kicking in now. Forty hours? VERY impressive. VERY.

lvls 20 - 25 in 40 hours of gameplay isnt all that fast at all. Sure its faster than he's been getting, but joining a group in highpass keep or sarnaks in the lake might have been faster.

Am I the only one who read this with the Comic Book Store guy from the Simpsons' voice in my head?

He did that too, but that's not cheating in my book cuz you have to help out in a group. This guy was giving him levels with nothing in return (in the game anyway).

I guess all the EverQuesting technically counts as "show prep" now, doesn't it?

He should be playing Dark Age of Camelot. It's a much better game.

Depends on your view...It's called powerleveling. Some say its faster. For the lower levels 1-10 it sure as hell is. But cheating. No..not really. The game is designed to have other people help ya out. For you to help them too. If the Droolid wanted to help Ant out well then...it aint cheating. I see it done all the time. Tho usually the two are from the same guild or have some kind of "arrangement".

But you can go up just as fast in a group at the higher levels went from 43-45 in two marathon chain pulling sessions in Dreadlands. Then got 46 on the next day(total of about 46hours play). The higher level ya are the longer it takes to get to the next one.

Like distrubed said 30,35,40,45 and any level over 50 you only get half the experience you would normally earn...

You might get half experience for those levels but you make up for it. The Hell levels are really a side effect of the experience curve and I dont think it was intended at all. Lvl 30 might be a bitch, but the next 4 levels will actually go by faster to make up for it. So leveling from 30 - 35 is just as fast as if the Hell levels never existed.
I stopped playing because of the monotony of killing the same exact things over and over. I'm waiting for a game where experience runs would be a heck of a lot more fun. Camping out and pulling things gets old fast.

For some reason, I think questioning the morality of it is the least of the worries.

Hey Rog, let me know when you schedule the intervention.
