That way there wont be any problems with the bad ratings the recieved and the rest of us wont be subjected to the "RadioGods". I find D&M as entertaining as Limo Anthony visiting the studio. OKOK its just an excuse to get Don and Mike off WNEW, but is that so wrong? IS IT? Wanna buy a dryer....door? | ||||

Right now D&M on in midday with O&A on in afternoon in overall better for the company. O&A could never have a listener in DC and the schedule wiill stay the same.

WYSP in Philly was easy to build on because we were all waiting for DeBella to be replaced by something good. People hate that Don and Mike got moved, but it was a good move for the company. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | They need time to make in impact! Remember, it took some time for NY to come around, and its the same situation in DC. They might have to do a road show or two there, as well as get into the meida-base (newspapers, mages, etc.) But it will happen. Also, the listener that used to tune in at that time are used to D&M hick-shlock shows, so most of those people won't be tuning in. Its just a matter of time, but it will work. Give them one show in DC where they can get great ratings. If O&A are high school locker room humor then these guys are pre-pubescent grammer school humor. Why does it matter if they get a fan base in DC? It doesnt effect me if Im in NJ/NY. Of course O&A will win in the end, but is it worth the torture of the "RadioGods"? They stink! | Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | When O&A got the afternoon drive slot and Don and Mike had to make the move to middays, it was THE win for the boys, no matter what happens in DC. Honestly, the only way I could have seen there being any INSTANT ratings for O&A in DC or D&M in NY would have been for more interaction between the two. If after the midday change, there had been a few times when D&M stuck around on air with O&A, it might have been some help for the O&A numbers. Same goes for D&M. But assuming the best, O&A are doing it the way they always have: by themselves. Like it's been said in this thread, they always win in the end.  | ||||

However, i must state that O&A are rockin in DC! they are growing. in the last couple weeks i've seen WOW stickers starting to pop up all over the place! to me it seems that the way O&A are going about getting DC listeners is perfect, make the original listeners get so upset about the ratings that we're going crazy spreading the word! the grass roots movement has begun! O&A are more gooder! | ||||

You don't like D&M, do what we do - turn them off during middays, turn the radio back on for O&A. After DECADES of darkness, the D.C. folks are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in afternoon drive radio. It's gonna take time for the audience to build in Washington. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 02 | Before O&A can get decent numbers in DC, the audience has to transition from the former D&M audience to the new O&A audience. This takes a while -- kind of like getting rid of a heinous hangover. Both shows have their fans, and new listeners will filter in in time. Give 'em a few ratings books and things will turn around. DC relatable: On the way home today, travelling through the I-95 mixing bowl, I saw a piece of construction equipment with "WOW" scrawled in the layer of grime which covered it. Made me smile.
