I changed jobs in December, used to listen to
O & A every day. Now I'm working out of my
girlfriend's house and she thinks that I
shouldn't listen to O & A in front of her 11 and
13 yr. olds. My argument to her was that
unless you know the show, you can't
understand half the shit they say. But she still
worries about the occassional audio-gasm (?)

I'd say that you should probably put on some headphones if your gonna listen in front of her kids. The 13 year-old might not be too young (seeing as I tell all the 8th graders I teach to listen to O&A), but 11 is pushing it. And after all, they are her kids and I credit her for actually doing parenting and monitoring what her kids listen to.

I wouldn't listen to them in front of the kids if the kids could hear it. Use headphones, like someone else mentioned above.

What's you point? The kid called in and said "Crinkle Crinkle". THAT WAS FUCKING WROOOOONG! But ya, I started listening to OA when I was,... hmm... 15? But to respond to the original, YOU'RE AN IDIOT, don't let the goddamn 11 year old girl listen.

Dude, it doesn't matter how old the kids are. If their mother doesn't want them listening, you need to respect her request.

i started listening when i was 13, and by that age, i understood 99% of everything that they were talking about. 11 is probobly too young, though

All joking aside, I think it's great that she even CARES what her kids are listening to...All too often parents either don't care or don't pay attention to what their kids are doing, then they wind up with kids like those on the HBO show...Of course, all this means is more knee-jerk reactions by the FCC et al which eventually turn Opie and Anthony's show into Ozzie and Harriet's show...All this because all too many bad parents can't keep tabs on their kids...And no, I don't think O&A is OK for anyone of less than high-school age but then, nor is Stern, nor would I let any kids of mine watch WWF wrestling either, not without some guidance anyway...

btw, I don't have any kids (that I know of ;) )...

I watched WWF since I was 4 or 5... quit a year ago (even though I tuned into Royal Rumble for all the old characters returning), and I know it's fake, and even though I sometimes wrestle with friends (bring out the fag barrel), I don't make contact such that I hurt them. And I played Mortal Kombat and DOOM and everything, and I don't shoot people even though I sometimes imagine walking around school as if its Counter-strike. And after listening to O&A, I'm not going out and banging hookers and tying up little girls. Reasonable people will recognize the separation between reality and imagination.

i don't think the young ones should be listening to it, but one day they'll be exposed.

besides the kid's that i teach (11 and 12 yr olds) have a classmate in their regular school that knows about WOW.

I agree that their humor may be a bit randy, but I think their euphamism, albeit quite naughty, allow the show to be enjoyed by all!

You missed my point, SYNT....I'm enough of a realist to know that if an 11 and 13 year old want to listen to the show, they will. There's no real way to stop 'em, and they aren't his kids anyhow, so it's not his job to stop 'em. However, when he continues to listed on front of the kids, he's defying their mother. That's the kind of thing that starts a relationship down the path of destruction. This is a no brainer-listen with headphones. You get the show and keep the old lady happy too. Win-win in my book. Save the confrontations for something that actually matters.

As far as Curtis & Kuby go, they should both take Norton's advice and just die. I'd rather lisen to Limbaugh than those two assholes.

Well, after hearing the Middle School Confessions , I think what they listen to on the radio should be much less a concern than what they do when they go out after it.
