i went to school the 11th. without knowing anything that was going on. i had a film class and it was a discussion class on films we watched. the teacher walked in and put cnn on then sat down. i thought it was a made for school movie and did not believe it was happening. i figured it was for a discussion, ya know a project of some type. next thing ya know this plane comes vearing into the screen turning toward the second tower then hit it. i still thought nothing of it. "live" and the date showed up on the screen and i literally lost my breathe. it then hit me. i could not believe i saw it live. it was like i fell into a zone. i sat there for three hours watching this just pissed off (had to go to another class). the freaky thing is noone said a word. then the teacher said the craziest thing i ever heard, "whoever did it believed in a god." it is scary that these people do do this for there god. may all killed rest in peace, we won't forget. to all who were injured we are proud of your strength. lets run a conquest on the world. if you are with us, cool! if not to bad! the world will be better off with out them. the rest of that day was a zone, noone at school was talking, it was a scary type of quiet. kill em all. god bless america.

Maybe this can be a thread where we all look back on where we were that day. I know my parents still talk about where they were when Kennedy was killed, and I consider this more impactful...

I understand the sentiment, but I don't know if theis is more impactful, and it doesn't really matter.

What makes Pearl Harbor, Kennedy Assasination, and 9-11 so memerable is that no one could believe at the time that they were possible.

It isn't the horriffic damage and death that effects most of us (and it was horriffic); it was that no one ever in their wildest dreams thought it possible.

This is such a weird thing. How much stuff has religion fucked up in this world. I'm not even talking about taking away personal freedom or trying to make us all zombies. 3,000 people killed because "America is evil", the Crusdaes, Catholic Priest touching little boys, and countless lives lost because people are doing "God's will". On somedays I believe in God, but sometimes I think it would be better if we didn't. Think about. Millions of people living for tomorrow and what they are promised by people that lived thousands of years ago. What if everyone was focoused on right now. What good are you going to do today that is going to make your life better today and what will make the world better TODAY. I'm not saying that I think all religion is bad, but it is complete bullshit. This is not what Chirst or Muhammod (I know this isn't spelled right) intended. We fucked it all up and personally, I think we would be better off with out it. there is nothing wrong with believeing in God, but once you become a Catholic, a Protestant, a Jew, and Muslim, you distance yourself from God. What religion do these people think God is? NONE!!!!! If you honestly believe that you are going to find God in one of these religions then fine, but I think you are looking in the wrong place.

“The window burns to light the way back home. A light that warms no matter where they've gone. They're off to find the hero of the day. But what if they should fall by someone's wicked way. Still the window burns. Time so slowly turns. And someone there is sighing. Keepers of the flames. Do ya feel your name? Can't you hear your babies crying? Mama they try and break me. Still they try and break me. 'Scuze me while I tend to how I feel. These things return to me that still seem real. Now deservingly this easy chair. But the rocking stopped by wheels of despair. Don't want your aid. But the first I've make. For years can't hold or feel. No, I'm not all me. So please excuse me. While I tend to how I feel. But now the dreams and waking screams. That ever last the night. So build the wall, behind the crawl. And hide until it's light. So can you hear your babies cryin' now? Still the window burns. Time so slowly turns. And someone there is sighing. Keepers of the flames. Do ya feel your name? Can't you hear your babies crying?” - Metallica
"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty." - John F. Kennedy, 1961
