Morning". Weird, but true. Wow, never saw it
coming. Now we get Ferall for 5 hours in the
morning. It could be decent, good, or bad.

Yeah, he'll do well because he's so original and knowledgeable and extremely accurate with his predictions. The sports world has been aching for a gravelly voiced,alcoholic,misinformed firecracker like him. Every local sports talk show has one guy like him to tool on so, when things get stale in NY, he'll find work easily. The way he's able to roll off the boy he was with the night before,drag his hung over ass off the cot,read the front pages of the post,times and USA Today and then do a radio show....It's admirable. It gives hope to every half-informed lush,that they too could have their own sports show if they could find the right apethetic market. I read that his voice isn't from too many cigarettes but is actually the result of repeated blunt trauma to the back of his throat with boy junk. Be proud NY. You've got a real original there. He got his voice from "The Brick", his look from Iggy Pop, his lifestyle from Freddie Mercury and his sports knowledge and powers of prognostication from Richard Simmons. Whatta talent!!!

I feel really bad for Blain. He's had to go through so much shit at WNEW and survived a few different co-hosts. Although the spotlight was on Ferrall, Blain did his job as best as possible. He'll probably wind up on the FAN before long, like Sid.



Someone told me once that there's a right and wrong, and that punishment would come to those who dare to cross the line. But it must not be true for jerk-offs like you. Maybe it takes longer to catch a total asshole. But I'm tired of waiting. Maybe it's just bullshit and I should play GOD, and shoot you myself. MJK

Then in that case it's fine. I thought WNEW was giving a raw deal which he really didn't deserve. If he took a better offer, good for him.

For those of you who don't know, Ferrall was on in New York about 5 years ago, on a syndicated show called "Ferrall on the Bench." It was on midnights in New York, broadcast from LA. The guy is talented, and knows his stuff. The only problem with being on in the mornings, is that his competion, is well, you know.

Morning shows don't suceed because of this, especially on WNEW. Think back to Mason and Kolinsky.

How is Z100 so popular? They are like listening to Don and Mike.

But we can help, Listen to Ferrall.....he is very entertaining.

You can't blame Blaine - he's going to Detroit to work with Rocky Allen again, a gig that he was very successful with here a few years ago. Besides, do you think anyone really WANTS to be at 'NEW? Anyone given a real shot at bettering their carrerr elsewhere would jump ship in a heartbeat - including O&A.

Besides, Ferral works better alone - noone to talk over, and he'll have a lot more control over the show. I thought initially Blaine & Ferral didn't gel together well, but as time went on it started to work. I'll still tune in, it beats listening to porn stars talk about their movies for the millionth time.

ie - Sports guys have had so many different hosts, but kept the same name. I wonder who had that brilliant idea. :)

At least with Ferral they have a plan. When they dumped Mason & Kalinsky, they decided the master plan was to go with Sports in the morning, since WFAN shifts to Imus 5:30-10, and HS would not allow a top Raunchy show to go up against him. So, as The Chick once put it, they got the brilliant idea to put a couple of Jewish guys who no one ever heard of to do sports in prime time.

IMO Sid turned out to be pretty good, but he didn't do to well with Scott Kaplan. That is when the merry-go-round began. They decided to go more with Humor, but keep the sports idea. what they wound up with is a show that couldn't figure out what to do.

Ferral knows sports, especially hockey which isn't covered much here. He also is a wild personality who fits in with O&A as well as R&F.

He may not be for everyone, but at least now they have a plan that makes some sorts of sense.

Blaine wasn't bad, but he was a round peg in a square hole.

I really dig Ferall. He know things, good things.
Sid was good too, which is the only time I turn off NEW, is to listen to him at 10am on the FAN.

Ferrall and Sid would be a sick show.

One aweful thought though;
Following the co host rule on the sports guys show this could be bad.
It seems that the co host(the newest guy) soon becomes the lead, with the old lead leaving. Now, follow this logic, that means in about six months, WNEW, will remove Ferrall and move the current co host in to his spot. Who is that aweful black guy, the ex football player?

Ferrall is the best thing to come to NY Sports radio in a long time.

Try listening to ESPN radio, that really sucks.

Ferrall is awesome! He's a raging psychopath and if you can comprehend what he is actually saying amongst the insanity he actually knows what he is talking about.

Unfortunately I don't live anywhere New York so I can't listen to his show.
