O&A will do fine in Albany. Stern does very well up there and the majority of the radio-listening population is smack in the middle of O&A's target demographic. My brother's a student at RPI and I turned him into an O&A fan a few years ago. He was pretty psyched to hear that O&A were picked up by 'HTR although he told me that the station doesn't have a particularly strong FM signal. The capital district is also home to more modern rock stations than most major markets in the United States, mostly because of the major universities in the area. All of this could mean good things for our boys.

I go to school in Binghamton, but I go to Albany every now and then because one of my housemates lives there. I agree that O&A would do well in Albany. Hell they would do well in Binghamton too (wink wink nudge nudge) everyone is f'in from Long Island. I usually go to the Washington Tavern when I am in Albany.
For now, I listen on SU.

I'm counting down, how about you?
I've been here long enough, I should have a sig pic.

I used to go to SUNY Albany, and I wish I had O&A back then. A couple of friends go there now and the word has already been starting to spread. The college is made up of like 75% people from the city and Long Island. Alot of people have already been listening when theyre home.

I'm from North Jersey but I go to school at Siena College up in Albany. It's great to be able to hear the guys over the radio again! Lots of O&A faithful up here in the colleges of the capital region. I think they will do great up here.

the thing about the Albany station is that it's only existed for about a week. I'm sure as time to goes on they'll increase their signal strength and it'll be easier to pick up the station in the capital district. Opie said yesterday that the transmitter was only installed last Wednesday.

they should of tried getting on The Edge(103.9,103.5), for the following reasons:

1. They have a great signal, I can pick it up from as far south as Kingston, and as far west as Oneonta and Cooperstown.

2. They already have Stern, why not givve everyone a chance to hear who he has been bitching about for the last few years.

3. Their afternoon guy sucks. He is the second biggest dick I have ever heard on the radio. Number 1 being The Woodman on 104.7 in Poughkeepsie.

I think the ratio of Albany fans is about the same as Cleveland fans. But welcome anyway FFA....

Here's the link to the whole story behind the new station. Apparently, they are taking an "anti-Clear Channel" approach. The mid-day team used to partner with the competetion station in the same timeslot.

It doesn't get signals from either city. Your best bet would be if they get syndicated to Syracuse.
