For some reason these tools believe that old country music will garner better ratings than OnA and Jim Rome. Morons. Remember, losing a station not only effects the city, it's an insult to the entire family. | Hanger-On Registered: Apr. 02 | Not good...you were able to hear O&A on I-5 all the way from Portland to Seattle. It was brutal though because Portland had it live and Seattle was delayed three hours. Example...Crazy Eddie's story was starting to fall apart on Seattle...Portland already had it figured out and was moving on. Classic Country!?!....that's the same thing that happened to Extreme Talk 1010 in Portland a few months ago. 1010 used to carry The Greaseman...waddle daddle....bone dry....and Don&Mike but went tits up and changed to classic country. Extreme Talk 970 was a new format but it's the AM equivalent of the FM rock station in town,,K-UFO. I wish K-UFO had a little higher profile with O&A because their afternoon jocks...DogFace and PorkChop...sound identical to Rocko. DogFace has the exact same raspy voice that Anthony tools on and they do the same lame prepburger bits during the short time when they aren't playing music. Seattle does have a powerhouse FM Talk station but that's Tom Lickass's biggest affiliate and they dominate in the PM with Leykus. They have Don&Mike live in the morning, some guy named BJ Shays..."A BJ a day"..."isn't your day better with a little BJ"....Leykus and Loveline in the evening. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | Here's the skinny for some Seattle FM options... KQBZ: The station that would SEEM to be the best fit would be KQBZ, "The Buzz". They have Don & Mike and pretty good numbers as a fm talk station. Opie and Anthony would seem to be a good fit for what would be live mid-days. The problem though is fairly simple: they are an Entercom based station. Don't think there's a chance that Entercom would put O&A on a station that would bash their own WAAF. KISW: This is the Seattle rock station that Stern is on. Rock is the format all day after mornings. The problem? You guessed it: KISW is an Entercom station. KNDD 107: Modern Rock format. Could be a decent fit. Same problem...Entercom station. KFNK: Hard Rock station. Lex and Terry in the morning, like New Orleans WSJZ. Owned by Bedrock & Assoc. Might be the best fit for O and A. The problem here though...this is one of the lowest rated stations in Seattle. KZOK: Owned by Infinity. classic rock station. Decent ratings...top 10 overall. No specualtion here. Just some info from one of the many radio insiders here.  | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 02 | Another suggestion for a new O&A Seattle affiliate, like you care: This is an AM station but they used to run Don and Mike. The power is low but they are planning on upgrading their signal (applications are pending). The other benefit is that 1380 is in Snohomish County, north of Seattle and King County. That means a second affiliate could be set up from just south of Seattle without violating band width and programing rules.
