| Hanger-On Registered: Apr. 02  | I live in the DC area and have been listening to D&M since 1996. Before we even knew O&A were around D&M were the shit. They made getting home in traffic more tolerable. When O&A came in and took their slot I was happily suprised. I learned of O&A from sound clips of Stephen Lynch on Napster. Who were these O&A dudes? They had Stephen Lynch all the time. That and the fact that they spoke to my generation made me move to them and dump Don and Mike. I am 29 years old. Not 16 like D&M would make it out to be. 10 reasons Don & Mike suck ass. 1. They moved their show to get on Live in Philly and NY and now that they are failing in both markets they are trying this "scorched earth" policy to take O&A down. I bet O & A won't say anything on tuesday or will say very little. This little battle is below them. 2. Freida. Christ! I never want to get married after listening to this whiney bitch. She is whiney and annoying. I don't listen to the radio to listen to this nightmarish hell. I'm suprised Don hasn't killed himself already. I understand #5 now. 3. Don and Mike are boring. I never realized how boring they were until O&A came on. I woke up that there was a world outside of Fairfax, VA. 4. Don and Mike only started putting up pictures and taking advantage of the internet after they got to NY. They used to make fun of people on the internet and anyone that could use a computer. 5. Don (aka Mike Sorce) is a drunk driver and was arrested years ago for Cocain possession. You'd think with all that Coke he did he'd take off a few pounds. He also had Pot on him at the time of the DUI but I won't fault him for that. 6. They never have decent guests. Either it's Lea Remedy(sp) from that tv show or some Local DC News personality. It is rare that they have any real stars show up. When they do they make them take some lame sex quiz. That's a good way to get repeat appearances. I don't need to tell you guys that O&A have awesome guests. 7. Their ratings are lower in DC b/c of the time change. They also have horrible ratings in NY and from what I hear in Philly they are just as bad. This comes from a friend in the radio industry in Philly. 8. The only reason they are on more major markets is b/c they are "safe" humor and stay just far enough on the edge that they don't get canceled. O&A go over that edge every week. It's amazing that they get away with what they do. 9. Don and Mike are old men with miserable lives. They are hated by Ken Stevens and the network and are going to be gone from Infinity airwaves in less than a year because of their contract. 10. Their own fan website (www.donandmikefans.com) has left them behind. Obviously, even their #1 internet fan can't take them anymore either. extra... 11. Telling their audience to call O&A and lie to get on the air. How childish. 12. Giving out phone numbers of their callers. If they get a hate call or someone tells a stupid joke they give out the phone #. Besides probably being illegal it is not a good way to endear yourself to a potential audience. They also belittle callers who might be nervous on the radio. O&A treat their listeners with at least a little bit of respect. 12. They rag on Anthony b/c he used to install AC. Well, not everyone is a "famous" DJ from birth you elitist fuck! Some people have to work shit jobs before they make it big. That's low coming from a guy that was given up for adoption b/c his real parents didn't love him and his current foster parents disowned him. His brother is also no shining gem. Don says that O&A cater to 16 year olds and truckers. Don, your brother is a truck driver. Even your own family prefer O&A. Go die already. D&M will be a memory 2 years from now and O&A can take care of these two losers so I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the carnage. Don, you always said that if we hated listening to your show to turn off the station. Well, NY has taken your advice. Don't cry about it now. I have a MP3 of yesterday's O&A show and D&M stripped out stuff from clips he played on the air today. They made it sound like they won the debate. Listening to Don call 5-6 times yesterday on O&A was pathetic. Its sad to see Don fall so far. Even Stalker Patty knows when to hang up. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 02 | Dont get me wrong, im not a D&M fan. I have listened from time to time, and I like that idea. Thats all. I drive alot for my job, and my work truck doesnt have a cd or tape player. After hearing the same 20 songs I have to change the station. Sometimes I have to suffer through a D&M show. | ||||

Once in a blue moon I hear something on D&M that makes me laugh. I just don't like how D&M intimidate and belittle callers that might be nervous or have trouble making a point or insult them. O&A blow off callers sometimes too but they don't obsess on intimidating or belittling callers that they disagree with. How many times has Don tried to "Fight" a caller? It's pathetic. He puts his wife on the air nearly everyday and then gets pissed when someone criticizes her. It's just a sad day for D&M and I for one and glad O&A are best of today. They don't need to respond to this scorched earth ploy. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 02 | Actually, Im from NY. I dont deny that I listen from time to time, and I also listen to Stern from time to time. Every once and a while something funny is said on those shows. Its just that overall I dont find the D&M show entertaining. I usually tune in at the begining of the show. After about an hour I cant take it anymore. From time to time I flip back to see whats going on. Rarely do they do something that I find funny. | ||||

Who are they to be so superior? (Altho sometimes their fans don't seem to be packing a lot of brainpower.) They're such condescending a-------! The few times I have tuned in to their gabfest, their conversation is pathetic. Who CARES about their family? His wife STINKS! And I can see how she could turn a young guy away from all women! I do take a perverse bit of pleasure in hearing about O'Meara's psychiatric problems, but a daily update about his Paxil intake does not make compelling radio. I LOVE hearing about O&A's early days and especially Anthony's previous job as a tin-knocker on Long Guy Land. Did you hear their timeline a couple of Saturday's ago? Freaking Priceless!! Just goes to show you that comic genius will always rise above putrid, mediocre crap. Bottom Line...O&A are screamingly funny and talented guys and LONG MAY THEY ROCK!!!!!! WNEW should give that morning traffic reporter-Johnny Thunders-his own radio slot. He's got a great, twisted sense of humor. Mornings would be nice, move Farrell to mid-day, keep the 2 radio Gods where they are and Ron & Fez at night. Absolute Perfection! D&M have had this coming for a long time. I'm amazed that their stupidity that passes for a show has lasted this long. Cheers! | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | I have my own way to tell if a show, be it radio or TV, is good. It's called the laugh out loud factor. For example the TV shows, Family Guy, Seinfeld, Simpson (You can't laugh at the dramas, I think that the acting speaks for itself). In radio the only show I laugh out loud listening to is O and A. That is why I'm such a big fan. I was sitting on the bus listening the other day and I was trying to hold in my laughter and looking like an idiot doing so. I listen to D and M when I can, just to hear the happenings. I DON'T LAUGH. They are assholes to their audience and most calls go no where. The only good thing about their show is Buzz, because when he does his segment it means that the show is ending. Even Stern I laugh out loud out once in a while. Another thing I like about the O and A show is the new vocabulary they make up. I find my vocal wardrobe is made up of Anthony and Norton's sayings. Other shows don't even come close to this. *Edit*... And I hate to use the rip off arguement because it is usually silly but D and M blatently ripped off Jay Mohr and Lynch. FBA, granted that was not an original term, but I have listened to D and M as long as they are on in NY and I didn't hear them say it until it was used by O and A. It's like the first time you get a hummer from a new girl after a long tedious relationship with your Ex. Looking down at that new face just gobbling makes ya want to whistle a little ditty. I'd rather they just toss some chimps into the studio and turn on the stinky cam. It would be more entertaining. Toss a stripper in there once and awhile and listen to the screams. Would probably get a 1 share. I know that I'd listen for a few days more than I would if D&M were on. Edit: I heard the O&A timeline when they were just doing odd jobs and living with his aunt. I think they are easier to relate to. I've had to live with friends and relatives in my life. It hasn't been easy but eventually you break through. For D&M to attack Anthony b/c he was a laborer is an insult to all blue collar people and just shows what kind of assholes were are dealing with here. Like FoundryMusicDoug said (great post, btw), I also just don't find them funny, ever! D&M always came off to me as the cheap HS clone that Howard always goes off about. Shows like Ron & Fez and O&A never came off to me like that, and even Farrell now (who's damn funny, I dunno why the poor guy has so many problems with his show, I don't even like sports but his personality on the air is great!). djOKterrific "How'd ya like to mow my lawn... ehhh?" | ||||

Honestly, I don't give two shits about the ratings, or syndication or who said and what and who cried to who, the reason I listen to radio is to avoid losing my mind at an extremely tedious job and machine-gunning all of my workers. Stern makes me laugh. OA make me laugh. DM, it just isn't there. Once in awhile I'll crack a smile, but never the guffaws like for OA when people look at you like you have lesions on your face. More people probably listened to DM today than any other day, and I wouldn't be surprised if they touched off this whole thing in a calculated attempt to get some last-minute ratings in NY. That said, I hope: 1) OA continue to talk about Frieda, and then beat down DM because of it. Leia talking about sending the people she knows "in all five boroughs" to bump into them on the street is some pussy shit. Handle your beef like a man, not by having others do it for you. By the way, Yoko was to the Beatles what Frieda is to soccer mom radio. 2) DM realize that calling Norton fat is like Mike Piazza getting queer-bashed by Liberace. The guy makes no bones about his awful body, and he's 1,000,000x talented than anyone on the DM show. 3) OA get a mic in the room when DM are packing up their office in DC.
