| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I have been visiting the Don and Mike board lately and have read some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen before. They like the music. Guess that is the first time the show was listenable. Is it an oxymoron calling Don and Mike's stuff Best of. So if they are fired or getting fired, put on Ron and Fez best of so people who can't listen at night can listen to the 2nd best show on WNEW.  | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: May. 02 | alright. here is a unbiased opinion from someone who has heard both shows for a while now and likes both equally for various reasons. let's face it, don and mike have failed in new york, but o and a made it very hard for that show to succeed. whether they want to admit it or not, don and mike and o and a have the same type of show and they attract the same kind of listeners. o and a have carved out a very nice piece of ny radio and i think they felt the heat of don and mike so took little pot shots here and there. and honestly, alot of you did not give don and mike a chance. it took me nearly a while to finally like don and mike. its like any other radio show, it takes time to develop a liking. now oa nd a are slowly doing well in d.c i think don and mike have let them grow in d.c and it shows in the ratings. they are developing a base. so on that point o and a f***ed them real good. now, on don and mike, they let their pride get the best of them. o and a are hot in new york but unknown everywhere else. don and mike have been around around 20 years and are well established all over the country. yes alot of them all are small markets, but they are still in around 50 cities and does say something. they are a big time show. and a huge money maker. to make it to the next level, o and a need syndication to work. right now they are slowly getting there. i think don and mike realize this and are upset. they want to do well in ny and want desperately to be on in l.a but it just didnt happen for them. also they are at the end of the rope interms of expanding. thye are now in their 40's and people like kent stevens and jeremy coleman and others who they buirned bridges with in the past really have made it a point to screw them. i give them don and mike credit in this aspect. they have challenged and called out anyone including the big ones oin infinity and cbs. it takes alot of balls to just walk out. but i think the end is near for them. thye had a great run and i enjoy their shpow, but pride is hard to swallow. what they do now will be interesting. now for o and a, and alot of you radical fans of them, you need to understand that they have been in the game as long as don and mike. that is good and bad. on the good side, they are cocky and defiant and i like that. but on the bad side, the mighty always fall hard. o and a right now have the power and obviously have been chosen over don and mike. but there are some things they do that are gonna hurt them in the long run. one is liking some of the mangement. they seem to put too much trust in them and believe me, jeremy coleman is a scumbag! second, they are lazy! playing old bits should atay on best of. that is a sign of a show that does not care enough to put on a full show. they need improvement. but, they are young in this game and right now they could become huge! and please, everyone steals form everyone in regards tom sounds and bits. i heard stern playing an old sound clip that was on don and mikefor years. hey, it happens. the main point i want to make is i fee that if you had to pout money on a hsow that could leap to the next level,it could be o and a. but honestly, i dont think they have th edrive or passion to want to make it. they have made it in new york and i think they have gotten a bit lazy. d and m did pull nearly 13,000 people in their appearance in sacramneto o and a need to expand. i think they are hilarious at times but do get stale at times. just like any other show. but they need to respect the elders. eventually they will get screwed like any other show if they are not careful | ||||

And it doesn't matter what O&A say: if you're a good show and people enjoy your show, no negative commentary should shy people away from your show. Let's face it: don and mike should be on q104. theire audience seems to be much older than the demographic that WNEW caters to. People on this board HATED the radio chick and she still managed to easily make more than a 1.0 on wnew, and the show is not that well known. "You don't know who I am? Fool! They can't relate to it. I'm 26. I gave D&M a few weeks and didn't like it. There is really not much about thier show that I can relate to. I have never had any kids or been married. When they first came to WNEW (the legendary "Rock of NY"), they were HATED by the other on-air staff. They dealt with it, went through "the purge", and now they are where they are. | Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | Scoop O&A didn't force listeners to hate D&M. D&M came to NEW in late 99, O&A actually promoted the show and had D&M on air a few times especially in Summer of 200. Then came D&M's bitch fest about not being live in NYC and demanding afternoons on WNEW> After that attempt failed O&A didn't like D&M anymore and who could blame them they tried to sneak their way into getting their job. However even during the year plus time (all through 2000 before this happened) Don & Mike still got horrible ratings in NYC. So O&A promoted them tried to get listeners to tune in D&M, even had them on the air a few times on their show to promote them, but that didn't work. Don & Mike were getting horrible #'s in NYC for over a year before the feud even started. | ||||
