No need to "suspend" them officially. Listen real carefully how things were phrased! Second no references about Freeda. Lea, or Bart, all shots taken at D&M only. No discussion about ratings. What is real sad is they were so desperate to get NY ratings they put a "NY" girl on the show in a last ditch effort to get ratings here. I like Leah, but she really does not belong on the radio. This is a war that the bloated duo started and lost BADLY!! Get over it. Don is using the death of Opie's Grandma to spin this however he would like. He is a loser and will always be. He FAILED!!! Opie's grandmother had passed away by then. The suspension didn't start till Tuesday? GET IT!!!! Why would management suspend them if they were already informed that Opie would be unable to work anyway? Two days off for the wake/viewing, another day for the funeral!!! ARI | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jul. 00 | Note: I am NOT in any way supporting don & mike or ari here OK, let’s see here… Opie’s grandmother was ill last week and died sometime over the weekend. Thus Opie was unable to do the show live last Friday. He was at the hospital with his grandmother and family. Last Thursday O&A made quite a few comments about d&m. And, rightfully so. don & mike’s ratings have gotten increasing worse in NY while Opie & Anthony’s have gotten increasingly better in DC. don called in and made a complete fool of himself and was hung up on and called back and was hung up on and called back and so on. So, Friday d&m devote their entire show to bashing Opie & Anthony. They actually began this rant by bashing O&A for spending so much time talking about them the previous day. And, not a lot later, accused O&A of starting this fight on Thursday knowing that they would not be in on Friday. Then both shows are mysteriously off the air for most of the week. don & mike return today and say nothing directly about anything that has transpired. Instead they spend four hours playing suggestively lyrical songs. Farrell and Ron & Fez remain mysteriously quiet about the entire situation. Even though (as Opie said) everyone at WNEW has know about his grandmother’s failing health for 2 weeks or more. They weren’t suspended. So, what happened? Opies grandmother died and Opie, Anthony, don and mike all were tied up with wake/viewing funerals all week? Were don & mike suspended? And, Opie & Anthony were not? So, where has Anthony been? Where has Norton been? Why have Farrell and Ron & Fez been so quiet? Opie claims that they did not know on Thursday that they were not going to be on live on Friday. Anthony was on Ron & Fez Friday night. Why didn’t he mention, in response to d&m’s tirade, that there was a personal situation that prevented them from being on Friday? He didn’t have to say any more than that. Didn’t have to give away any big secret. Didn’t have to give us any personal information. So, this was all a setup to see how stupid don & mike could make themselves look? See how deep a hole they could dig? I don’t get it. Really, what was the point of all this? Were don & mike suspended? Or, was there a death in one of their families as well? All week Anthony couldn’t stop in on Ron & Fez? Or, hell, even call in? And say “Hey, we weren’t suspended. We’ll be back Friday and explain it all then.†I don’t know what my point is here. I really don’t care where they were or why they weren’t on the air all week. I don’t know what I thought saying this would accomplish. I just don’t think anyone involved in this is being completely honest. It’s the same kinda crap that I’ve been annoyed with ever since syndication began. This “we’re too cool†attitude. That “we don’t need to explain anything to anyone… especially not you lowly listeners.†I’m not expecting a pleasant response to this.  Long Live the "Syndication Underground" | ||||
