O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	YMB- I went to Brighton last month to see Shuvelhead (kick-ass!)and Atomic Bitchwax(who I thought were just okay, but not great)....Solace is playing on the 6th of April (Friday)...I'm definitely going to that one! My adopted troubled children are Atomic Punk & Weinie....all problems with either of them should be addressed to me spitfire@opieanthony.com

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00	Spitfire, Is Solace playing at Brighton Bar? I haven't been there in a while. I usually go to see Lord Sterling or ABW. I live pretty close by, in Ocean, but don't go over to the Brighton that much lately. Josh

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00	ok, here goes my opinion.... im 27 and i grew up listening to metallica, dead kennedys, slayer and a lot of old school....i got into bands like NOFX, sick of it all, and a lot of local bands(yuppicide comes to mind-theyre the best band nobody's heard of...)... and I CANT STAND K-ROCK!!!! i listen to SOU when i get the chance, and eddie trunk plays some good stuff some times... so if i had the cash to start my own radio station, theyre would be a lot of those bands that i mention, throw in fear factory, nothingface, some led zep and van halen(David lee roth days), System of a down, sabbath,.....ok im starting to ramble but you get the point..... official drunk driver of the fuck truck....

Hanger-On Registered: Sep. 00	Radiohead doesn't nearly get enough air time...yes, kid a was obscure and for the most part not very radio-friendly but I only heard "optimistic" played once on the radio for christ's sake...maybe when when their next album amnesiac comes out in june they'll get a little more respect....they're definately the best rock band out there

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00	If you guys don't like the radio formats, do something about it, bitching on the message board will not change a thing I promise you that. A lot of the bands that people are complaining are not on the radio, are not there for a very good reason. They Blow! Here is the reality, radio is a business, just like any other business no different. They are there to make $$$ and that is the bottom line. As corny as Z100 is, it makes the most money. There Demo women 18-34 the most sought after demo by advertisers ... and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Who does the most shopping??? That Demo is who. Z100 does not care if guys ever listen, it makes no difference to them, all they want is to keep that target audience, and as long as they do they will continue to pull down the big bucks and they will never change there format. Why would they??? it makes no sense.

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00	Mobyworm, I personally do plenty of other stuff besides complain on the message board. I don't listen to the lame stations (and therefore, their advertisements don't reach me), I support independent music by buying the music and going to the shows, and I support the college stations in my area. I think talent alone doesn't get you radio play. There are hundreds of bands more talented than most of the bands on the radio, and they get ZERO credit. But then you get no-talent hacks like CREED, and Limp Triscit (who, by the way used to pay people to give them air time) on the air 24-7. Josh Josh

Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01	There are 2 bands that get screwed over by the radio all the time. Fear Factory and Machine Head. The only Fear Factory song you will hear on the radio is their cover of Gary Numan's "Cars", not any of their death metal hard shit. Machine Head has some great songs and great riffs and I haven't heard them on the readio... ever. If I hear "Kryptonite" one more time I will sodomize a nun.

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00	Two GREAT bands there Tony!!! Can't wait for FF new album end of next month. Spineshank, Slipknot, and Mudvayne, are great as well!!! BTW .... they play a lot of machine head and FF on SOU, you know ..... if you're in the area ... -Someday, sometime, I will get my lazy ass to transfer to another site ... until then ..... Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00	Rog2K .... there is only the Obsolete version, that I know and have heard ... they have in the past followed up the studio album with a remix version, but again, I am not aware of any for the obsolete release .... maybe an Import??? -Someday, sometime, I will get my lazy ass to transfer to another site ... until then .....

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00	YerMomsBox, I think you are missing my point. These lame ass stations (trust me I am not defending them I think most of them suck as well) make money playing music you might not like. What bands are better or have more talent is a matter of your opinion, and not fact. Every station has a target demo, and outside of that demographic they don't attempt to appeal to anyone else. All any station cares about is how much loot they can get for advertising. If in your opinion there is a market for the music you are talking about, try to make it happen. Maybe you can make a buck or two and make the radio a better place...

Sorry, I wasn't aware of that, thanks for the info .... shows you how much I listen to k-rock these days, usally SOU or just a good 'ol CD!!!! That is actually pretty surprising though .. but the good tunes are still too few and far between on k-rock and they play too many lame pop tunes from 3 doors down and the like ..... -Someday, sometime, I will get my lazy ass to transfer to another site ... until then .....
