The monthly Arbitrend ratings came out last Friday (Mar 23). I know O&A have the #1 afternoon drive show, and that WNEW overall pulled a measly 1.7, but does anyone know how the other day parts performed specifically?

By now it's no news where O&A are going to stand in the books, but I've become a huge fan of Ron and Fez as well, and I hope to Sweet Sandy Kane's lubed chute that they can pull some numbers. But F-F-F-F-FFFF the whole rest of the station, except Loveline, which somehow doesn't count (why the hell do they promote the pus out of Death and Muck at 7, but NEVER mention Loveline? Adam Carolla is as hilarious as anybody else out there).

Anyway, are there any facts and figures to be had out there?

NEW as a whole will never be a succesful station as long as edit is there and they cant compete in morning drive, since mornings are the number one daypart for advertisers the station cant succeed with a really low rated morning show. judge NEW by dayparts if they have two to three succesful dayparts then they are doing well

They use to be posted on the new york radio message board and radioinfo.com, but Arbitron threatened to sue them for copyright crap. The 12+ #'s can be posted, but not the show breakdowns or demo breakdowns. The arbitrends (the monthlies) are very hard to find information about specific shows the Arbitron book( (the quaterlies) are easier to access. The next Arbitron book (the winter one) comes out next month. I think that will be a very important book for O & A especially in regard to syndication.

the winter book is not that important, the fall book was much more important for them, during the winter there are less people listening bec of vacations, etc.

O & A's biggest gain did happen in a winter book. They went from a 2.9 in Fall 99 to 3.9 in Winter 2000. I know the winter book isn't as important as the fall book, but if O & A can stay around a 5 share (they had a 5.2 in the fall) which I think they will, it would be a big boost in getting them syndicated.

Usually, the NY newspapers write a ratings story a week or so after the ratings come out. It's usually a brief recap of how popular NY shows did. I will keep an eye out and post the link here.

Who gives a rats ass about syndication? We can hear them and thats all that matters! Plus, they would have to play to a national audience if syndicated and who wants that. Love the show as-is.

Well I figure they would want to be syndicated. They make more money through advertising in syndication. They would also get bigger guests and they would not get screwed all the time.

Also it would be nice to hear all the calls. You guys suck, etc and have O&A rip them.

Oh yes, I am a selfish Mother Shucker! Nobody deserves syndication more then our boys. They rock! But I think the New York audience would suffer from it. I am sure the show would still be great, but playing to a national audience would tone it down a little. Shit, I drive around all day in a patrol car, do you know how fast time flys from 3-7? I try to avoid radio calls so I don't miss a minute of the show. I think I need O&AA. Opie and Anthony anonymous.

Mother Shucker: I think you need spellers annonamis?
As queer as it may sound, i want the guys to be successful and if that means syndication then good for them. They know how to handle the show. it won't suffer.

Hammer, I think you need speller anonymous! (J/k!)

Syndication's cool as long as they don't turn into stereotypical "celebs" like edit did...

Doc, I'm not a cop, so you are safe. Rog, whenever I fill out a report I do use spell check. I admit that I can't spell. But you know what I was getting at. I hope there are no points off for spelling here!

O&A are the racehorse of this piece of shit station. If they were to leave the ratings for the Sports Guys, Radio Chick and Ron&Fez would tumble even further down. Even though I like the Radio Chick and Ron&Fez, I would abandon them in a flash if O&A were to leave this station. It would be great if O&A were syndicated. It would mean more money for the guys. But it's not going to happen. They are not managment ass buddies. So therefore they are not treated the way they should be.The majority of the listeners of the other three shows(except of course Don&Mike) are also O&A listeners. My prediction. This station will hit an all time low in ratings once O&A leave.

If O & A leave WNEW they will change formats. I would love to see Don & Mike move to 3-7 & O&A just wipe the floor with those to ass buddies, but that won't happen. If O & A leave they will change

I think the only reason the Sports Guys are on the air is Stern's no compete clause.

O&A & R&F!
If the boyz leave the shit bucket that is WNEW, I hope they find a way to take Ron & Fez with em. I know it's not realistic and O&A have to only look out for themselves, but I love AFRO radio.

FUCK the Sports Gays! FUCK the Chick & Dicks!
FUCK Dong and Dike!
& Fuck WNEW for having management from hell

Tim j: If O+A leave WNEW they will go to MORNINGS.

Stern's no compete clause only works for Infiniti stations.

How is Arbitron ratings figured?I remember O&A say that the old time slot from 2-3pm helped the Radio chick ratings. Is 3-7pm an Arbitron afternoon drive time all by itself. Are the first three shows Sports guys,Radio Chick & Ron and Fez overlaping in Time slots and ratings.Does 9-10am help sports Guys and 12-3pm help Radio Chick.
Let me get off the track the train is coming.AHHH!!!
