I think it will suck that it is taped tho because the real fun is dealing with callers who love and hate them. Eventually i think they will be live everywhere, replace Stern, who just sucks now, and be the new kings of media! | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | I have always felt that it is best to keep your enemies at arm's length this way you can keep an eye on them. I am not actually stating that O&A are an enemy to Infinity. What I am saying is that it was in Infinities best interest to keep them close. This way they would still have some kind of control over them. However, I am very pleased that they have been syndicated. We were all chanting it for months and years and now all of sudden it is changing. Sorry listeners you can't have your cake and eat it to. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | I don't like the whole tape delay idea, especially midnights, there will be no interaction between O&A and the audience. Another thought since someone mentioned it, I don't see why D&M don't go live from 11-3 in NY, they wanted to broadcast live from NY. Or maybe give the Radio Chick another hour and D&M are on live from 12-3. Reguardless of whether or not who thinks their shows suck, It kinda makes sense. To me R&F is more of a night show. When they were on midnights, a lot of school girls and shit were on. And the dead air at some points during the show was hilarious. Just an opinion. Them being on tape delay may actually keep people listening...waiting for them to switch to live, so they can call in and be a part of it all. O&A are sort of an acquired taste, like beer. First you take a sip, then two, and before you know it, you're polishing off a case all on your own! Just give it time. | ||||

They've got to test the waters first before moving the boys into live slots. Besides, the afternoon shows at a lot of the stations already have high ratings. It'll happen eventually, though. It's like a long, slow fuck -- THE PURGING OF A NATION. It would be pretty cool if Infinity did decide to go Waco on the country and put 'em out live all at once, | ||||

And they are an aquired taste, I wanted to hate them at first when a guy a work turned them on every day at 2 (two!) pm , but they grew on me and I found myself laughing. O&A still make me laugh out load everyday, that's a F-ing great thing, a radio show that can male you laugh your balls off each day. People look at me in traffic, as I'm laughing , they must think I'm insane! We're lucky to have them, and if the rest of the counrty is eo stupid to enjoy them , then F them in the A ! And god damn it , someone give Anthony a desk all of his own already, so he doesn't have to sit at Opie's !!! See the www.wnew.com site !!!!!!!!!! | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | True, the callers make the show better, but man, what the hell are they gonna do when they have 50 times the normal volume of phone calls coming in all at once? The screening process is going to be hell, and us old-school listeners in NYC will have nil chance of ever getting through again! I think it's a good thing to keep most of the other markets in tape delay for awhile, because for the first few months all it's gonna be is a bunch of effin tools calling in screaming "shut up & play some music!". Look at Philly: 99% of the calls coming in from them are negative, and they won't air most of them anyway. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I hate to cop out, but D&M AREN'T as good as O&A...see they're not quite as "psycho" (for lack of a better word). People don't listen and go "Oh, my God, I can't believe he just said that!" O&A have that...and if listeners can appreciate it, they'll want to call in and be able to tell them that...it may even push listeners in other markets that aren't live to call in and write to Infinity to have them go live. I don't know if I made any sense there...I'm very bad at explaining what I mean... I've been adopted by spitfyre!!! | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Nov. 00 | Tape delay is not really that big of a deal. Think about it for a second. If Stern (whom we all hate) is #1 in the mornings out there, he is on tape delay. I don't think they put him on at 3 am on the west coast just so he's on live. Live or not, the boys have to start somewhere. | ||||

If you listen to Ron & Fez , O&A might have them give out a super secret NY # for the NY callers only, just like the super secret instant feedback for the NY listeners. As for the tape delay and stuff, sure they are better live, but as long as I can listen all the way home of exit 58 on the garden state parkway , Then I'm good ! P.S. Ever notice when O&A are on the air and your stuck on the highway with a bunch of assholes, it's not that bad, but if they aren't on , you get a lot more pissed off?..Or is it just me? | ||||
