Matty was actually the former producer of the morning show at 93.7 star or whatever, an Entercom station. Guess what, AAF's owned by Entercom too. What a funny little coincidence that he would have that ticket, huh?

AAF said they had only agreed on a basic salary and not all those other clauses or whatever Birdsey and his lawyer added. Because Birdsey was already late, and added in shit AAF didnt want, they said fuck it. Really stupid move...

Really stupid move by whom? I hope you are talking about Birdsay. He is worthless.

And yeah Amhearst is up there in terms of hick country. I work around that area a lot and it's pretty lame. If you wanted good restaurants you could have always went to Northampton. Unless of course you object to being surrounded by fags all of the time. That fucking city scared the shit out of me the first, and only, time I was there.

But there's also this: there are over 5,000 men in this city, who know that being a policeman is an endless, glamourless, thankless job that's gotta be done.

I know it, too, and I'm damn glad to be one of them."

By AAF because R & B had been the highest rated afternoon rock show for over a year now (Meaning they kicked Carter's ass).

Officer Joe...I totally agree with you on the fixed promotion. Not only was Matty a a radio expert, but he made himself right at hom on the station. That's a bit fishy. O well. Hopefully O+A will go up right against them and kill them ratings-wise. Has anyone here met O+A? I went to a cd signing at the Solomon Pond Mall in late '97. They recognized my dad (Boston weatherman) and they put my pic up on their underground "Do What We Want" webpage. They are the best!

Well, I know that but I like to think that was more of a function of the music than those two klumps. Plus Rocko was the better half of that anyway. There are only so many stories about "Fluff" that you can take. And since it's scripted bullshit anyway, I doubt it matters who his partner is. I just don't listen anymore because it bored me after a while. As for Birdsey, his toilet talk wasn't funny when it was on in CT and it wasn't funny here either.

The mall tours ruled. At least O&A came out this far. I was going to go when they came to Holyoke to promote "Demented World" but this was back in my didn't have a car days so I couldn't make it up there. I finally got around to getting Opie to sign it at the softball game last year. He was a very cool guy and his brother even gave me copies of the rookie cards he made of them. That was very cool of him. As for Ant, he blew me off, so screw you Ant!!!!! Hopefully, I can get him to sign it this year if I make my way down there. Too bad AAF didn't make it out here to promote their last CD I wanted to go to meet LB and Ozone since they are/were the best part of that station and always made me laugh. Plus, I wanted to wear my WOW shirt to see what kind of reaction I would have gotten. Oh well.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned it, but O&A did on-air interview with a Boston reporter regarding talks. Unfortunately I listened at work, so don't have it verbatum, but BCN is still dicking with them, and they say WAAF is still a posibility;

Boston so important, BCN had 90 days (60 left or so) to S**T or get off the pot;

O&A went into more detail than the reporter wanted, and made her say that she would print some of it

Boston fan, u asked abotu my dad...he's Channel 7's Todd Gross. Morning meteorologist...altho he's been filling in nights recently.

Yeah they really love their fans and they stayed all day at the Solomon Pond Mall in October. I remember Wheelchair Fred was there (before Ozone made a tool out of him). Awesome stuff.

I too went to UMass. AAF out of Worcester has a strong signal that it is one of the only "Boston" market stations that comes in perfectly in Amherst and Springfield. What's interesting is that as mentioned above, the Hartford station with the same frequency as WAAF (WMZQ) is just about the same format as WAAF. Since Infinity has no Hartford stations with a good format to syndicate OandA, it would be a great place to "sell" the show.

If BCN isn't gonna comply, I say get back on AAF. Sure there are plenty of bumps, but it's still the type of station the boys would like to be on. Again, if it's a 2-3 year deal with WAAF, it can be a win-win for Infinity. Listeners of WAAF who don't like OandA will switch to WBCN and improve their ratings. When the show takes of and gets it's fan base back up again, Infinity could switch the show to WBCN. Win-Win situation. And also work a deal with (WMRQ 104.1 Hartford. Dee Snider seemed to get along pretty well with the boys a few years back when he and Jay Mohr were on the show the same day.

OandA live from Philly to Boston through the markets of Philly/Nj, NYC/NJ, Nassua/Suffolk, Hartford, Springfield, Worcester, Boston. Damn, I'm a broken record here.

I see your point, however, AAF listeners will probably stick to AAF for O+A, and I doubt they'd switch to BCN, since the radio stations are actually quite different.

Does anyone agree with me on that opne? I mean, WAAF has always stuck to their same great music. BCN adds some horrible stuff to it like Dave Matthews and Tori Amos, and they played Alanis Morrisett (sp?) a few years ago. Same with FNX. Ideally, they'd go back to AAF, bump Rocko and Matty to the evenings, and kill Nik Carter int he ratings.

I could be wrong, but I think more and more listeners are switching to Rock 101. They seem to be establishing themselves in the Boston area, and not just New Hampshire.

By the way, about 2 years ago, there were some rumors about O+A being syndicated on Rock 101, WGIR... Does anyone know what happened to that? The underground "do what we want" website stated that "we're sorry, but we won't be syndicated back to Boston in A[pril as we planned". Anyone knwo what happened?
