I guess the spring book is now being listed/published. David Hinckley (yeah, DEEK), has basic rating info in his article:

http://mostnewyork.com/2001-07-16/New_York_Now/Television/a-118468.asp

Article mentions Stern's lead is dropping in morning.
Don't mention O&A, but here are afternoon ratings:
(note: general ratings, not coveted 25-54 demo)
AFTERNOONS: WQHT (6.9), WLTW (6.2), WHTZ (4.8), WNEW, WKTU (4.5), WCBS-FM (4.1), WABC (3.9), WAXQ (3.3), WBLS (3.2), WRKS (3.1), WQCD (3.0), WFAN (2.9), WSKQ (2.8), WINS (2.7), WOR, WPAT-FM, WPLJ (2.6).

Notice WXRK not even on list; I guess this is why Opie was mentioning how afternoon at K-rock can't beat anyone.

I've found all day ratings online; is there any link which will give breakdowns - afternoons, etc.?

Stern's ratings have dropped to a 6.3, only .3 ahead of Wins. Howard dropping down near the 5 zone is absolutely unheard of. It reflects the quality of a show hes putting out.

The ratings use to be on the New York Radio Message Board. But, Arbitron got pissed & threatened lawsuits if the lists of #'s were on the board. Arbitron releases the overall ratings to the public, but as far as entire liists in either demos or timeslots you must suscribe to Arbitron and pay them to get those #'s. The people that get them have to be careful because if they release too much Arbitchtron will file lawsuits.

Let's see here...

WNEW move up in the atings, not by much, but they do.
WXRK move down in the ratings.
Looks lke Gay rock is doing a nice job keeping listeners.

Last friday, Opie spent about 30 minutes on it, about how only losers would get beat by a classic rock station...

NY is a strange market. Philly, Baltimore, DC & Boston all have multiple rock stations. New York has one and it doesn't even do well. What the hell are all the 18-35 year olds listening to? Z-100??? O&A are only on for 4 hours. Ponderous.

What really matters is winning the 25-54 segment in afternoons, which I believe O&A have consistanly been #1 for quite some time. You can't really expect big numbers from WNEW as a whole considering they have that cluster f of a radio show in The Radio Chick and a Don & Mike show that appeals to only people who are in a coma and can't change the station even if they wanted to.

There is only one rock station in new york because, it has alot of blacks, latins, jews. They dont like rock.I dont want to sound like a ass but it is the truth.

While it's true that there are a lot of minorities in NYC, the NY market includes NJ, CT Long Island & the northern NY counties. Those areas are predominantly white.

Not really. PLJ and Z-100 are pop.; 104.3 is Classic Rock which appeals to an older audience.

I think that NY radio sucks (outside of O&A). My CD changer is broken so I have to rely on K-Rock for music that I like.

Baltimore has one rock station. So does Washington. And between the two, they split a modern rock station. Washington has a very low powered classic rock station that you cant hear more than 25 miles out of the city. So get your facts straight.

The suburban areas do have rock stations. On LI BAB, WLIR use to be a modern rock station, but moved away from that because of crappy ratings. In Jersy you have DHA & the RAT. I like some rock, but I'm more of a hip hop fan anyway so it doesn't bother me
