| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I totally agree with what Ant said today on the show about that pipe that was dripping. That was almost as disgusting as Sandy Kane. As far as how packed it got, I think that was because Jay Mohr mentioned he would be there. That was definitely the most crowded Bar 9 has ever been and that turned the place into a goddamn oven. I know that AC was on, but with that many people it couldn't possibly cool the place down. Good luck on finding a BIGGER place Joe. I'm still entertained by the inherent humor in everyone introducing themselves face-to-face by the silly nicknames we give ourselves. (Yes, esp. mine!) A funny thing about the leaky pipe, Anthony first noticed the dripping on the stage just as Sandy "The Orbit" Kane was returning from the bathroom. Flushing coincidence? As for the suggestion that it go underground, I for one hope that it doesn't. I can probably agree with avoiding an on-air plug, but as a performer doesn't Joe want a bigger crowd? But to go completely word-of-mouth would limit the audience to those members who are close off the board. For those of us who enjoy the gigs, but don't have that close-knit group of OA.com friends, we'd be left out, I fear. Just my thought. To the merry band of performers, both pro & amateur, again you guys blow us away. A heckuva show, well worth the steamy heat! I love that "Creep." It should be on air. Btw, though I love a good kazoo solo, but if you guys need a sax player for that 25 or 6 to 4, feel free to drop me a line! | O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | If it goes under ground, I personally feel that it is going to suck for all of us who enjoy going to these things. I also think relying on other people to bring a crowd by word of mouth, without any kind of advertisement be it on here or on the show, isn't going to give Joe the exposure to draw the crowd size he needs to continue playing at these venues. For example, if Bar9 only had 5 people there every other Tuesday night, I highly doubt Bar9 would continue paying Joe, what they pay him, to play there. On the flip side, if he goes to a place like the Hard Rock, how many of us will actually make the trip into the city on a friday night and fight the lines, that sometimes plague the Hard Rock, to get in? I doubt many would. Especially considering how packed it normally is for a Friday night. However, it would consistently have the crowd size he would need in order to play there continually. To summarize my opinion on this, Joe has to do what's best for him and his "career" and if some of us get lost in the dust of the club or bar hopping he needs to do, then just consider those as the casualities of fame. ;)  I was bi when being bi wasn't kewl. It's got a huge interior, they server food, big parking lot. Hotels all around for those who get trashed or need to get their F on...
