As for suggestions, there's a nice big place up here by me on 92nd and 2nd called the Big Easy (it used to be the Quiet Man.) The room's probably as big as Bar 9, but both the front part and the "lounge" part. It doesn't have a loungy part of its own though. There's also Session 73 on 73rd and 1st, which is a music bar with a stage, sound, and lounge areas, but I don't know how they are for open dates. Good luck wherever you go, Joe! | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Dec. 00 | Joe / Froy - Bayside really isn't all the unrealistic for people from Jersey. From the GWB, you can get to Bell Blvd zone in about 15 minutes or without traffic. There was a dive I used to hang out in a few years ago that might be available. I don't know if still exists. It's called the JukeBox on 32nd or 33rd on the east side off 2nd avenue. They had a DJ and the occassional band there.  Into each person's life a little pain must fall. I'm just here to administer it. | ||||

Turtle Bay Tavern 987 Second Ave. New York, NY 10022-6305 Phone: (212)447-9785 They DO card at the door though. has a HUGE 2nd floor lounge bar with a lot of big couches and giant projection screen TV. Anyplace like that would be great for socializing. I know a few others, but all the bars I've been to card, so no underage people could get in.  I wonder how many people actually read the text people put under their sig pics. | ||||

Froy, as far as Luna - I think it might be a little tough - they have 3 or 4 bands every night and they do their booking a few months at a time so it might take a while to work something out - it might be too weird there - but then again I thought Bar 9 would be weird before it started, so what do I know? It might be worth looking into... Besides, I'm not always hyping Luna, I'm hyping my band, we just happen to play there a lot. :) www.10headshigh.com | ||||

Of course Joe you probally know there's easy LIRR access. The station is about three blocks away.
