I'm moving from my dorm in queens in a few weeks and i get great reception of WNEW. Now I'm going back to Long Island. (the port jeff area to be exact)

Always at home i get shitty reception of WNEW and i wonder for those listeners in central suffolk county what do you use other than a car radio to get better reception of the station. I need my O&A fix but i dont want to heavily rely on SU.

Good Luck Lent.....
What I would recomend is a good FM antenna. Try a good signal amplifying indoor antenna first. That
should do the trick. If not you will need one that gets attached to the chimney outside. Between that gay B103 that crushes 102.7 and the strength of WBAB, without a good antenna forget
about hearing it. I am about 15 miles south of Port Jeff and I rely on the SU feed, when I am not in the car, or closer to the WNEW signal.

LONG LIVE SU :) :-D

I'm about 5 miles from Port eff (Stony Brook). When I am outside I can pick WNEW ok on my boom box or stereo. However because my dorm room is on the north side of campus & my room faces north (have to my antenna out the window to get reception because of the building), I can't get NEW, 102.9 WDRC from Hartford kills them, and WBAZ 102.5 from out in Bumblefuck hurts them on the other side. So I have to rely on SU. However, a good fm antenna or a stereo with good reception should solve the problem. It would be better if O&A go to Hartford.

I live right down in Ronkonkoma and in my basement apartment, my home stereo doesn't get it for shit. But I get a mediocre signal from my portable boombox that I keep around. It's a little staticy but it does the trick.
Lent, thats the problem with living out here. No matter what NEW gets slammed by other stations signals. Most of us rely heavily on SU.
