Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 01	June 5, 2001 Infinity Keeps Opie & Anthony With Major Syndication Deal While papers still have to be signed and some details are not yet finalized, the bidding war over WNEW/New York’s red-hot Opie & Anthony has concluded. Infinity has reached an agreement in principle that will keep the red-hot afternoon talkers in their stable – and away from Clear Channel and other bidders. Opie Hughes and Anthony Cumia didn’t get the morning show they craved, but they are realizing their dream to have the show air in other markets. And Infinity was able to prevent the duo from directly competing with morning rainmaker Howard Stern in New York. According to a source close to the situation, Infinity will air the program "in some form" in six of the top 10 markets. Opie & Anthony will also be offered to stations in other markets, though it’s unclear if Infinity will have right of first refusal. Affiliates will be given flexibility in how they air the show – some may air it live, some may tape-delay it for other dayparts. Infinity is preparing to make a formal announcement on Wednesday, the same day O&A are expected back on the air.

I thought it was right on topic.. right with the rash of postings about what would happen to the good folks with SU if O&A went somewhere else. I thought thought I was giving some decent info here and if I thought it was off topic I wouldn't have posted it. 'Nuff said.
