As I've said, I'll occasionally flip on Howie, since he USED to be funny, and occasionally has moments. (The fact that there is not much on in morning in NYC doesn't hurt).

Anyway, he had on the guy who does the "Jump
The Shark" website (and book, etc.). It started out as you might expect, when Howie mentioned that many people have asked when He jumped the Shark. He stayed on it for a while, first joking that some people said he jumped when he got separated, and that some said he jumped when he left WNBC. For a couple of moments, it was actually real, and kinda interesting that even though he thinks he is still king shit, he recognizes possible changes in opinions.
Yeah, it degenerated into more ME ME ME (like when did his marriage jump the shark, etc.), but it did seem interesting.

I appreciate the thought, but I know that. I only put that because
a) its true, and
b) I didn't want a Howie zombie to start something.

not too paranoid, am I?

Are they really funny, or "Zane-a-rific"? I really do flip around in the car in the morning like a ADD kid after eating sugar smacks.

I heard that. Seemed pretty interesting. First thing Howard has had on that was interesting in a while. Howard Jumped the Shark when Billy West left. That was right after OJ and after that he ran out of interesting things to talk about. Billy West was a funny mother fucker. I loved his Marge Schott immitations.

I think Howard jumped the shark two days after the tejado singer Selena was shot and killed by her manager.

The day after she was shot, Howard basically said, "who cares?!" and blasted the music as unenjoyable. After much outcry, he apologized in Spanish to his listeners the next day.

Sure, Howard was wrong to be so insensitive on a subject he knew very little about, but that is what made him so alluring. The fact that it was the first time in practically a decade that he said something that could be considered outrageous is second only to the fact that he didn't stick to his ignorant guns when he apologized.

When I did listen to Howard on a regular basis, it was because of Fred and the "drops" in the background. Like on Seinfeld, the title character became the least interesting.

It would pique my interest to see a guest host or something, but then again I'm not listening anymore. The shark he jumped has already died of old age...

...as would most of you if I keep rambling on...

I'm surprised that Howard would even bring up his show and Jump the Shark...seeing as most people have posted on that website that Howard's show jumped when O&A came to town and Howard put a gag order on them. I wish someone would have brought that up to Howard, even though he would have just dumped it out.
