| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | For those of you who missed the beginning of today's show, O&A mentioned that Richard Jeni went on "another show that thinks everyone is a clone" and kissed the "hosts" ass, agreeing whole heartedly about "Clone shows". This after he begged to be on O&A, even putting up with waiting outside the studio for hours, etc. | ||||

Call him and his show out for the festival of lameness that it is! I cannot WAIT until the gloves come off. I want Stern to do something wrong in the worst way, I suspect there's a lot of pent-up stuff going on there. Opie's bringing up the Stern stuff - EXCELLENT! ...WHY ARE THEY DUMPING OUT???? They just dumped out of Jeni saying "Howard Stern" - WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT? And Jeni is killing himself taking shots at how O & A run their show (buttons, writers). How dare he say that which such a horrible act himself. O & A better not stand for this. | Hanger-On Registered: May. 01 | I've seen Jeni in person (twice) and I think he's funny, but that's not why I'm responding. Instead, I'll offer my suggestion of what O&A should do about the Stern ban. When they go on the air they should announce that they will say a name that will be dumped, but they will continue to say it until the dump runs out and music is played. When that happens they will still repeat the name even if it means the show will be four hours of music, not just for today but everyday until the name makes it on the air. (you can flame me now). | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Jeni's crack management staff (or is that writing staff?) sent out a CD featuring his original and wacky World Trade Center / War in Afghanistan material. Apparently he sent this to a number of radio stations in the hopes that they would play it and promote him, or whatever. The material STUNK (not that Norton would tell you that, he was quite tight-lipped on the whole thing). That is pretty much how the scab was ripped off this wound - I'm sure there was a little bit more of a build-up to it than that though because I do recall that O&A were also barred from discussing Stern's slipping to third place in the NYC market. Opie was in rare form talking to Richard Jeni, and then Ant went off on one of his patented, coherent rants against "the man." Good radio. This goes beyond Jeremy, so Howie probably complained to Mel, who put in the edict even though it violates the contract. | ||||

But I think I have an idea for a bit the boys can get around it with……. “…..imagine a bit orbiting around “the Hotel Sierraâ€. It’s a mythical Mount Olympus type of resort…..exclusive…..and very discriminatory. The pompous and arrogant occupants of “the Hotel Sierra†breath a rarified air. This air...makes them delusional ….. so they think they know what best for everyone else….. even though their personal lives are retched travesties…… a joke. These pathetic people are so past their 15 minutes….there dead…..they just don’t have sense enough to fall over and lay down. Every night there’s entertainment, it’s called “the Hotel Sierra Show.†It’s so lame people now laugh at it…. not with it. Of course it wasn’t always that way. There used to be a good writer "Juliet Mike" ….but other members of the show were jealous of him …besides…. he couldn’t make a decision without his crack pipe …..of course those decisions didn’t always work outâ€â€¦. By using the phonetic alphabet O&A could talk about HS with impunity…. if they wanted to. Controversy is good for extreme talk radio, people like it….. and now’s the time for the boys to be harsh. | ||||

FANDICK… “What the hell is this? I thought they could mention him for a long time now?†…my thoughts exactly. And to dump R Jeni…a celebrity caller, is just being ridicules…it ruins the whole bit. IMO The source of H’s credibility and popularity is his stinging social commentary. He’s perceived as so honestly anti PC that people accept his word as golden. He bashed NBC when he was there and makes a good living biting the hand that feeds him. Listeners like it when he bashes Mel, Dave Letterman, Les Moonves, the Hollywood glitterati i …etc . It’s almost… because he will even skewer his own vested interests his credibility quotient will rise. Now the one thing all those people have in common is that their all public figures…… just like Howard. So why does he, a news making public figure, exempt himself from being mentioned on the O&A show? He’s almost become the icon of hypocrisy that his career has championed itself against. …and O&A must find a way around this if their going to rise to the next level. I’m guessing this censorship problem has be resolved within the inner sanctum sanctorum one level above Steve Kingston……OK…I’ve had my say now I’m content to lurk, buh bye. | ||||

And no, it wouldn't be considered weakness, it's called fighting back. A contract is a contract. O&A wins in the end if they chose to go to court.
