| Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 02  | First of all, everyone here bashes Howard.. I saw someone write that he is afraid of competition.. He has been on in the morning for how many years?? He has destroyed everyone.. I am an O & A fan, but you guys are so hung up on the battle between O & A and Howard that it's ridiculous.. They had offers to go on in the morning against him and turned them down.. Why?? Because it would have been career suicide.. Don and Mike bash Howard, but don't have the balls to go up against him.. Listen to O & A, and enjoy them, but you cannot compare them to Howard.. If you think you can, put them on in the morning against him.. Just see what happens.. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 02 | Don and Mike have gone against Howard Stern in the mornings and have beaten him continuously in the DC ratings. When the Greaseman was on DC101 in the morning, he beat Stern in the ratings. This is the honest truth, after Don and Mike left WAVA, Infinity Broadcasting offered a great syndicated deal to them to be in the afternoons and they offered a great deal to the Greaseman to leave the mornings. All of this is documented in past Arbitron ratings books! Don and Mike maintained the high ratings that they garnered in the morning and made it worked in the afternoon. Greaseman wasn't succesful in his transition with his syndicated deal. Infinity did the same thing in other cities, buying off morning radio shows that had beaten Stern in the ratings to clear out any competition for him. That is honestly is how he rose to the top nationally, no bull. May that be so, Infinity has always treated Don and Mike like the black sheeps of the company. Don and Mike made an agreement with Infinity and Stern that they would not talk about each others shows in a negative way, which Don and Mike honored for many years. That was until Stern started bad mouthing their show and said that all these other radio shows copied him and that he invented the form of shock radio. That was when Don and Mike fought back, also O & A which made Stern get the CBS execs put that edict of no show will be able to talk about him. That was lifted, but put back on O & A and WNEW because they started talking about Stern negatively. It is not on Don and Mike because the only time they talk negatively about him is when, his listeners call in bad mouthing their show. They try to focus on their show, and not blame any other shows for their mistakes or if they garner low ratings. I have nothing against Stern, O & A, or Don and Mike. | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 01 | I dunno, lately howard's stuff has been getting more and more boring...last week he spent a whole show reading out of the magazine his girlfriend is in. I think howard will be gone soon, then radio is gonna change bigtime. Who knows, maybe Barsky here in philly will be #1 in mornings. I'm not looking forward to don & mike...Philly wants Ron & Fez!!!!!!!!!!! | ||||
