Tuned in Stern's lame ass show both early, and late today. There was a comedian "trying out" for Jackie's job. Sounded a lot like an old regular on O & A. I think it was Jeff Ross, could be wrong though. Anybody bother listening to that crap anymore?

Apparently Jackie's contract renegotiation failed. They offered him a ton more money, he wanted even more than that.

Yet another sign that the Deek of All Media has one foot out the door. It's over, Johnny.

Don't give a fuck about Jackie or Stern, at least not since 1995. I was wondering if the guy they brought in to take Jackie's spot was an O & A defector

Everyone knows that stern built his entire career off jackie and fred norris. More so off jackie howard himself has little to no talent whatsoever. He has a team of writers that go beyond just fred and jackie. He needs to have 4 people in studio with him or more sometimes because by himself he could not fill a coffee cup let alone 5 minutes of air.

Jackie leaving or getting fired whatever would be pretty much like Anthony leaving the O&A show.

And all stern stuff should be in enemies of the show. Like any D&M, Lickass or Mancrotch.

Sure there is...Vital Limo Anthony!!! Put him on

Ellen DeGeneres' estrogen count!!!

Jackie is over as is Stern. Stern must be shitting bricks since he needs several people to write his material. Anyone remember Billy West and ALL the excellent work he did for Stern. Stern was in his prime when West was on the show.

Guys, if i've said it once i've said it a hundred times, the Stern show has not been funny since Billy West left. How can Jackie leaving be a big thing when the show already blows monkey ass? BE MORE FUNNY Howard! Bring back Billy West!

No matter how lousy, Jackie is/was the only writer for Stern. Who is left? KC? Since Stern is a no-talent, and can't write his own stuff, maybe the prudent thing would be to hire some talented writers to mask this fact. If Stern knew what was good for him, maybe he'd hire somebody with his own money to keep the show going.

Only problem is Kansei, is that Stern is too Arrogant, and ignorant to realize that.
And another problem is that even if Stern did another person to replace Jackie, it would be only a matter of time before that replacement quits.

Whatever you say, Fil!

I use to listen to Howard for years.
He's gone down hill.
I think I read about Jackie leaving in Newsday....It's the beginning of the end for that show! R.I.P. Howie

I agree.

I also noticed that Stern took a page out of the O&A book with all the impressions (presumably, the impressions were by the Jackie try-out guy).

Impressions on Stern's show were never as integrated to the show as they are on the O&A show. That is, until last week.

You can bash Stern for alot of things, but saying that the only writer was Jackie is wrong. Fred writes alot too. And no matter what you say, he is still a great interviewer. Everytime I catch his show on E or know of a good guest on the radio show I will tune in. Why? Because I think he is a good interviewer and he can get the good "a" list guests. He askes questions that make them feel uncomfortable and that IMO is great. If O&A had "a" list guests they would do a great job too, but I don't know if they would be as good. Stern's show has more money so the production is a step above O&A.
As for being funny, well, he's not anymore. O&A blow him out of the water. Their off day is as good as one of Sterns best days ever was. But as an interviewer, I think he has the advantage.

Kansei, youre wrong about the impression stuff. Before Billy West was a regular, he used to come in and do the voices once in awhile.

Even though I may be wrong about the impressions, what I heard on the Stern show last week is very different from anything he did in the last few years. It's also very similar to what I hear O&A do daily.
