I sort of agree. Stern has already built up a fanbase and he is mainstream now. O&A are still undreground, so to speak, and they still need to prove themselves.

Stern is jaded and he knows he doesn't have to put much effort in his show to get people to listen.

Howard's biggest problem is he became a celebrity and he knows it. I'm sure his hate for O&A is not personal, all Howard cares about is money. Everyone he refers to as a "clone" is considered a threat to his livelyhood. The fall of his radio show will be a direct result of his greed, the guy is making over 30 million a year and it is not enough. He goes to fucking Nobu every day (200 per person easy). It is sad that the guy who was so for the 1st ammendment is now under tyhe belief that he is the only one entitled to free speech. I have been listening to Howard everyday for almost 20 years and he has changed for the worse. O&A will take radio to another level, a level Howard could have taken it to but became to lazy to get to. It is simply natural that eventually some better would come along, and one day some will come along and pick up where O&A left off and take radio to an even higher level. Howard will be his own downfall.

To the top for the new markets... but,

as a (former?) fan of Howard from back in the day, (I even helped push him in Philly on YSP), isn't our biggest fear that our boyz will one day become this way also?
Remember, Howard fans never thought he'd be censorship guy, but here he is. I love O&A and I hope they'll never be banning those initials to some newcomers in LA...

GUY, YOU HAVE ENTIRELY TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS TO HAVE WRITTEN A THESIS ON THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OPIE AND FUCKING ANTONY SHOW AND HOWARD STERN. NO ONE WILL EVER TOP HOWARD AND IF I WANTED TO LISTEN TO TALK RADIO IN THE AFTERNOON, I'D SWITCH TO AM, YOU'RE A HOMO.

CAPS ALERT!!!!!

Honestly, until you can open your mind enough to have an intelligent debate, based upon your own thoughts, without the bullshit you've been brainwashed into thinking:
Go drown in a pool of AIDS

Welcome to the O&A Message Board :)

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls... The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

I've adopted FN, um, I mean Fuggin Moron into the School of Altered Reality...he's a little slow so be nice :)

Hey Amlawley. Go fucking die in a bamboo pit, White bread.
And thanks for Acknowledging us as Homo Sapiens, which makes us higher on the food chain, Stern Monkey.
And One more thing, O&A are not Stern. They're too busy being themselves, paying bills, and being with their family to be celebrities. Life is more important to them than money or a mansion.

I have been Listening to Stern for about 10 years now and i still laugh my ass of and most of all i love the look on the faces of the "stern haters" when i tell them i am a listener. mostly the females say " oh he is such an asshole" , he is so disgusting" and all the other bullshit. that being said i still listen to Stern EVERY morning on my way to work AND i tune him in when i am at work doing my station duties that will not change unless ordered from higher up.

Now, i have found the O&A show in the afternoon and i have thought to my self " hey these guys took that from Howard" and " damn these guys are Stern wanna be's" but you know what i STILL listen to them and i laugh my ass of while doing it.
Why? because i think the the individual listening to either or both shows define what entertains him or herself. and i find both of them funny as hell.
i was listening to the show the other mornign when "Marsha Brady" was on and i did pick up on the "subtel" hints of the O&A show and you know what... I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF.. not because i knew where it was from but because i found it funny.

i am not saying that one show is better then the other they both are great in thier own rights. and hell if we really think about it peopel have been ripping off everyting from everyone since god decided to have adam and eve do the nasty so this is not new.

to windowlck, you are 100% correct his show has declined some what and i personally think that since Jackie is no longer there something just doesnt seem to flow. your origanal post here was excilent and actually complet with facts. you have done your homework and that is great.

AMLAWLY: from one Stern fan to another:
SHUT THE FUCK UP! crawl back under your dads nut sack and wait till your mommy needs her crust picked from her gash again you inbreed.

now with all that said. i am glad i have found O&A, just adds to the daily humor.

Welcome to the board, Fireguy.
Now this is a guy I can talk to easily. A guy who just likes his comedy, and watching people's faces when he says what he listens to.
Enjoy the show, and keep laughing. I know I do.

Stern has become Imus. Old and Out of touch with his core audience. Imus has at least changed his core audience concentrating on Men 65-100. As I get older I find the political theme of Imus show more interesting than Howard's lame attempt to regain his adolecent charm. Long Live the Kings O&A.

Window,

Your analysis is flawed. Where did you get this information from? Do you believe whatever Opie and Anthony say, and you don't believe what Howard says? Both sides are jaded. Don't believe either side.

If Howard had so much power, why didn't he stop the Greaseman's show from airing afternoons on KROCK? He hated the Greaseman as much as Imus.

They work for the same company! Howard can not stop them from making money for Infinity. They are encouraged to start a radio war, it increases ratings for both shows.

Opie and Anthony are now syndicated. Did Howard stop that from happening? So in hindsight, you should admit that you were wrong 2 months ago.

While both sides use their respective shows for witch hunts, marketing and brainwashing, I tend to believe O&A more than Stern. Stern lost too much credibility when he clammed up during his separation - he hasn't been forthcoming enough to get it back.

Greaseman was harmless. O&A, however, are striking a chord with the young people while Stern loses touch. With all that said, Stern had to his advantage his yet unsigned contract extension of 5 years last year. Since it's very clear to all of us that Infinity only cares about their employees just before their contract expires, you have to agree that some concessions were made towards Stern's demands.

War increases ratings, true. Stern can not make O&A stop making money for the company. Stern can, however, poison the well by blacklisting any guests who show up on O&A. Given Stern's track record for blacklisting people for less, it's believable.

And you're telling us this because, Matrix?
Mind you folks, This Matrix outsider is the one who beleived the NY Radio message board, when there was a rumor floating around about O&A moving to Krock and getting Psycho Mark and Spaz back. Also, this is the very same message board is run by a dentist named Allen Sniffen.

Kansei, ok so the guy didnt talk about his separation, think about this for a minute, the guy is married to the same woman for 20+ years, wich in todays standards is somethign to be proud of being most marriages normaly decay in about 10. ok, so he wasnt forth comming in the fact of what was going on, so BIG FUCKING DEAL!do you know the facts on the separation yourself? i mean the FACTS not what you heard or was said but the true hard facts? didnt think so. so please explain when you say he lost creadibility dureing the separation.
i do have to agree with you in the fact that whnen Stern ""Blacklists" someone it is open season for them on the show. true Stern does the same shit day in day out most days and the show has lost a little with Jackie gone but he still is a "power house" so to speak in the radio market not to be taken too lightly.

Filzy, thanks for the welcome and you are right, as long as i think it is funny, hell i will listen. and the more controversal it is the better.

ill even admit to listening to the Greaseman when he was on, the guy had his funny streaks, you just had to put up with the boreing shit first and then get through 20 minutes of music for 10 minutes of entertainment.

lets face it. Stern will be on the radio for atleast another 4 years unless infinity fires him wich may or maynot be a good thing. O&A have more or less acknowledged the fact. they will take Howards place sooner or later. with Infinity haveing not only the best morning drive show working for them, they now have the best afternoon drive show working for them as well, the rateings show that. how can Infinity do any beter?
