| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | punkrocker, as i enter my junior year, i got some advice for you.freshmen and sophomre year will suck. freshmen year-you dont know people, you dont know teachers, you dont know your way around, you dont know all the rules sophmore year-harder then the first, and generally sucky(not just me...most of my freinds agree with that) but once you hit junior, it goes up.i get to pick some good clases this year, a top locker, and other good stuff.dont sweat it  i may be a little catholic boy, but i'm still HLJC 4 LIFE! | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I just started High School monday and although there are a lot of great things there are always going to be problems. Like for example: 1)I have to take Advanced Analysis first trimester. 2)Fucking double doors lead you to think it is a stairwell but it is actually another fucking hallway. 3)Classes are 8-4:30. But the pluses outweigh these. 1)There is a comp everywhere you go. 2)The electives are sweet. I'm taking C++ and SQL Database freshmen year! 3)Lots of free time to work. Wednesdays I don't have classes after lunch. I either do projects or go to a club. I can also go anywhere on campus no problem. There are no hall monitors. You just have to have an ID so they know you are a student. 4)Clubs aren't after school. I go during the school day on wednesdays. 5)And that hot ass junior chick with the nice tits in my freezing French class doesn't hurt either:). I'm in my 4th and final year and I gotta get up everyday at 6am and sit on the train and jackass all the way from Long Island to midtown Manhattan. I don't get home until 3 or 4 o'clock and than I go to work. And I can't wait until my first 15 page on Judicial and Correctional Ethics is due, I'm sure I'll be able to find time between class and work. High School is great. Plus, if its public HS you have nothing to worry about, just make sure you have a cool car your senior year and can find a 7-11 that doesn't ID when you try to buy beer. Girls get moist for the Chevy Blazer. | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | High School wasn't that bad, for me at least but I had the entire quiet creepy loner thing going for me (of course after Columbine a lot more people were nicer to me). It helped me get known without being popular (which I always considered more a hassel than a blessing...then again I was never popular). my school never really had like separate cliques as far as I noticed but no one liked the blacks. Jocks and cheerleaders were in honor classes and mostly everyone was apathetic. I have an awful memory so I don't really remember Freshman or Sophomore year or most of Junior year except Junior year was the first time I did weed but that was late in the year. Senior year is when I learned how many people actually knew/knew about me and finally got the hang of talking to the opposite sex. EDIT: In conclusion, high school wasn't that bad. Stay in the middle of the road, don't be part of one group. This way if there's shit going down you're not part of it but if you can link up with a person or two in each group you can be part of great parties. And if people insult you LIVE WITH IT. Don't go shooting up the school (of course depending on your school you can joke about it). High school is where you learn about your differences, everyone is teased. Jocks tease nerds, nerds make fun of jocks (though not to their face). If you're not made fun of, you're not noticed. | O&A Board Regular Registered: May. 00 | No matter what goes on there is one thing you need to do. BE YOURSELF! Most of the popular people in HS are very fake and shallow. Don't feel the "need" to fit in. Be your own person. Work hard and play hard. Get involved in something you love (not just to impress college). You will find many friends in an activity you like. If you wanna get in a good college study for the SAT gradually by buying a book for it. Also make it the habit to study and do your homework even if your teacher doesn't collect. Follow mine and others advice and you'll be fine. It's just normal anxiety.
