God damn I'm sick of that country! Fucking
6,000 Americans die, and all they have to say
is "this is what we go through every day" and
then they try to get us to destroy their enemies,
calling arafat a terrorist just so we would
attack him. Fuck off, take care of your own shit!
Speaking of, I think its great that they call the
PLO terrorists for attacking the people that are
OCCUPYING THE COUNTRY THAT THEY
HAVE LIVED IN FOR 5,000 years, that the
british gave to you!

We give them fucking 30 billion dollars a year,
and what have we ever got in return - jack shit.
And don't give me that whole 'democratic
presence' shit, the fucking saudis, and UAE
have helped us much more, plus they have
the fucking oil.
Most of my Jewish friends are normal, but
then you get the ones that think because they
are jewish that it makes them middle east
history scholars. fuck you! and if you tell them
they are full of shit or that you don't peticulary
care for israel, you're a fucking anti-semite.

Ah I feel better.

Oh dear...where to begin where to begin.... First of all, Arafat has been linked to terrorist activities in the West Bank etc. So in actuality he is a terrorist. Don't doubt for a second that just because he did the proper public relations thing of donating blood that he is a totally decent human being. In fact, I remember reading in the New York Times about a week or so ago that the leaders of Palestinean organizations had called of terrorist activities in the wake of the tradgedy in New York City, Washington, and Pennsylvania. Was it good that they called off these attacks? Obviously. But the fact that they had to call them off means that they are in fact a terrorist organization. President Bush has declared a war on all terrorist organizations, not only the ones who had a direct link to the attacks on our nation on September 11th.

As far as your stance regarding the Palestinians and other Arabs living on the land that is now known as Israel for over 5,000 years, that is true, but what you are not aknowledging is the fact that the Jews had been dispersed from the region due to the fact that they were constantly being taken over by other nations, etc. Had they had a chance to grow as strong as the Islamic Caliphates did, perhaps this wouldn't even be an issue right now. Regardless of who was there longer, the fact still remains that Israel was created after WWII to be a safe haven, and it was never intended to be a total Jewish state. The problem lies in the fact that the Arabs feel they should have total control....you cannot blame Israel the country for the problems that are in that area...these tensions run thousands of years deep. Perhaps if there is a creation of a Palestinean state some of the Israeli/Arab tensions can subside...but to blame Israel for saying that they experience this kind of violence everyday is nonsensical...watch the news...death there is an everday occurence.

Here is a question for you...

Was George Washington a terrorist? Fighting
against an occupying power isn't terrorism.
Do I agree with killing of civilians, no way.

Israel was created as a Jewish state, there is
no doubt about it. The Palestinians were
promised their freedom from British
occupation if they stood with the allies during
WWI. However British Foreign Minister Arthur
James Balfour promised the International
Zionists a homeland for the Jews in
Palestine.

Seriously, though Israel and Palestine can do
whatever the hell they want, I could give two
shits about it. I'm just tired of the population of
American Jews that are basically separatists.
For example, after Sep 11, my university held
a candle light vigil. They handed out red,
white, and navy blue candles that everyone lit.
Everyone, that is, except the Jewish Student
group that lit their own light blue (the color of
the Israeli flag) candles. No they weren’t
Israeli, but American Jews . Its shit like that
that burns me up.

Hmmm....

To call George Washington a terrorist is nonsensical for many reasons. He was the leader of the Revolutionary Army, and was fighting the British after a war had been declared. The Declaration of Independence had already been signed, and the British knew what was happening. In Israel, the Palestineans have made no formal declaration of independence from what they consider to be a totally Jewish state, and they are not fighting war like battles, they are fighting like terrorists with no regard towards the life of civilians.

As for what you said about the Jewish organizations in your school with the candles, I think that is disgusting...you live in this country, you should identify with this country.

The Americans were labeled terrorists by the
British for their cruelty, non-traditional warfare,
fought by commoners, not
soldiers...interesting..

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying I support
the palestinians in what they are doing, but I
understand their point of view, especially the
anti-american one. To quote one palestinian
"every day I find out about another one of my

ok lets see here...Israel is the only completely democratic government in that region, a region that obviously has a lot of countries that wish to do America harm. don't you think that it makes sense to aid and preserve the only country in the middle east that might want to be friendly with us?

you have to understand that what happened here on 9/11 happens EVERY DAY in Israel. on a smaller scale, this is true, but almost on a weekly basis some palestinian straps a bomb to himself and sets it off in a market or restaurant. I'm not saying the Israelis are 100% right, they've made mistakes too, but our helping them is in our best interests as well as theirs.

Personally, I don't think there can ever be peace if both sides keep on clinging to the idea that they are the only ones who righteously (sp) belong there. I think the best thing to do would be to take the area that is considered to be the holiest, and not assign it to any one country. It should be like international territory where no one would really live...it should be more of a place to worship and visit. Then they should just appropriate land for both sides to call their own.....who knows if we will ever see peace...but stranger things have happened...

We have plenty of allies in the area, UAE,

Here is a quote from a Lt Colonel about Israel

"Israel, on the other hand has no strategic,
social or political depth in the region and has
no coalition partners in the Middle East.
Indeed, it has been in a state of war with each

If you want someoene that truely represents the Palestinian side real well you should look into Edward W. Said. He's secular so he doesn't have that religious fundamentalist aura that the media portrays oh so often.

Democracy has nothing to do with it especially with American support of murderous dictators such as Suharto.

Again if America was concerned with Democracy then the elections would have happened in the 1950s which would have had the Communists winning overwhelmingly(This was because the Communists were the driving force in independence from France).

The thing with Israel is that it commits atrocities of its own. You know what's the difference though? Israel gets billions in military aide. To say that Israel doesn't kill civilians on its own clearly shows that you don't know the facts.

Feel American, Think Israeli
by Chris Matthews

I think of the Islamic 15-year-old.

He watches all this. He hears of the hijacked planes that hit the tallest buildings in New York. He learns of the men who sacrificed their lives to avenge the desecration of Mecca and Medina, the "starvation of children" in Iraq.

Now he watches giant warships loaded with the most ferocious weapons charge toward the Arabian Sea. The same America that sides with Israel, which disobeys the teachings of Allah, now comes to kill Osama Bin Laden.

What side does this 15-year-old in Afghanistan or Pakistan or Saudi Arabia or Iraq take in this death struggle? Does he root for his kinsman or the "Crusader," George W. Bush?

And how does he react to the struggle's end? If the Taliban stymie the Americans, do they become the heroes of the Islamic world? If they fall before the Americans' superior weaponry, do they achieve their martyr status all the quicker?

This is the conundrum Israel has always faced. Lose to Arabs and cease to exist. Kill Arabs and you radicalize its youth.

It explains the strategy of the Jewish state. Study its history and you notice a common denominator of its governments: avoid bloodbaths.

Morality is one factor. The people of Israel believe themselves to be a good people. The second factor is practical. How can Israel ever hope to be accepted if it allows its fight for survival to degenerate into a blood war. Otherwise, Israel will never, ever find peace.

This is the lesson we Americans must now take to heart.

Until Sept. 11, we were a country of our own making. We created our own form of government. We created our own sports: baseball, basketball, American football. We wrote our own music, made our own movies, designed our own clothes, cars, buildings. We even invented our own catastrophes: slavery, the Civil War, Vietnam, you name it.

This is the first time we have had something done to us. Seven thousand are dead because hundreds of millions of people in another part of the world don't like us and several dozen of them figured out how to show it.

We are united in our determination to do something about it.

The first smart thing we can do is realize we are up against smart people. The hijackers knew they could get the male pilots of those four planes to leave their cockpits by killing female flight attendants. Our enemies know, too, that the way to lure us to Afghanistan is to attack us in our homeland.

Let's face it. Bush has been fantastic. But what red-blooded American President wouldn't be?

The second smart thing we can do is start to think like the smart Israeli. We need to catch the killers. We need to destroy Bin Laden and the whole terror network.

And we need to avoid a blood war. No sane American wants the people who have not forgotten the Crusades of a thousand years ago to spend the next thousand years avenging the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.

We need to feel American, think Israeli.

We must never lose sight of the final goal, which is peace. If our forces slaughter the Taliban forces in the field, we may find ourselves the battle's victor but the war's loser.

Our constant purpose must be, not just triumph in Afghanistan, but peace at home.

We cannot achieve that purpose by making that 15-year-old into a blood enemy.

it's a hard thing for americans to understand, the concept of a "religious state". what is it? well as an american jew, my first aligance(sp) is to that of the jewish people. i would give up my life for theirs sooner than i would an american. we as jews consider ourselves as one people, not only here in america, but all over the world. there is no other religion/people that would do this. that is probably why, johnslack, the jews in your school held a seperate vigil, they also might have prayed, were you there?
as for israel, since the time of joshua, there have always been jews living in the land, as for "palestinians", the islamic religion isn't that old, it only came to be in the mid-600's. the palestinian people that we know today, are nothing more than jordanian refugees, that in 1967, israel allowed to live instead of killing them, when jordan didn't want them. arafat himself is of egyptian decent, not palestine. and i am willing to bet money that he was involved on sept 11.
** oh yeah, it has been said time and time again, that in aug of this year, the israeli mosad warned america in washington of an attack, america ignored these warnings.**

There IS a country of Palestine, ask the UN,
displaced by the british zionists, but still in
existance.
Throwing rocks at soliders that are occupying
your land...

Cunt-twat - you hit it right on the head. it IS a
religious state, and I understand your
allegiance to it. But that doesn't fly in the
united states - there is this thing called
seperation between church and state. But
many lawmakers and lobbyists act in the
bests interests of their religion, not their
country, and that is my problem. When it
comes to nationalism, I'm american, but when
it comes to religion, I'm roman catholic. they
are seperate. Your allegiance is to the state of
israel before the united states. I understand it,
but i can't accept it.

Also, just because you relate israelis to a religion, doesn't mean you can make that same connection with the palestinians. true, islam is a relatively young religion, but the ancestors of the current muslim palestinians
still lived there before islam, historians
estimate it at about 4000 BC.

As far as being 'unpatriotic' I'm being VERY
patriotic. I'm not defending the palestinians,
i'm sick of the united states being used as a
tool of israel by the portion of jews that
choose israel over america. I don't want my
tax dollars going there, or the military
equipment that my tax dollars pay for.

john, as for being unpatriotic, i am very patriotic. however, as a jew, my first alligence is to the jewish people, and the state of israel. this is something that other religions don't have, and therefore can't understand.
your theory that the palestinian people have been around since 4000 bc, i think you are confusing the palestinian people, with the philestine people, who also hated the israelites. are they the same people? perhaps? but they were from philestine, not palestine. the palestine thsat the un is talking about is all off the land of israel that we know today, that isn't the case with the philestines.
