| O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00  | Alright, I;m surfing the net when suddenly the box pops up and asks me if I want to save or open a file. But I didn't click on any download links?!? So, I canceled out of that and noticed the ad window that had popped up behind it. But it doesn't look like an ad. It looks like directions on how to download and install a file. Did a little research. That program redirects your modem to an international number and charges hundreds of dollars in long distance calls to your phone bill!!!! What I want to know is do the site owner's KNOW about this? Are they WILLINGLY putting these "ADS" on their sites? | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: May. 00 | You can also change the security settings in IE to prevent any site from automatically downloading a program to your comp. I did this in response to the annoying "comet cursors" I kept on getting.
