| Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01  | I woke up this morning come to find out that power lines fell on my car. PSEG and fire trucks were there and taped off a section of the road, including my car obviously. So, I couldn't get to my car, let alone work. Then I get a parking ticket because my car was on the street cleaning side while the power lines were still on my car!! Can't you see the power lines are down and draped over my car?!? Now i have to take time out of my precious time to go to court to get this ticket dismissed. FU NJ parking police! | Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | One would think the meter maid who gave you the ticket while a (presumably) live wire was on your car should have their head examined. Too bad they didn't get electricuted- then again, you would be up for murder when you go to court. I live in Maplewood, NJ and work in Summit, NJ, home of two factions of the Parking Nazis of the Peoples Republic of New Jersey (PRNJ); they must generate as much revenue for the parking as they do in property taxes (see: Maplewood raised their prop taxes in excess of 50% in '00). It is a fucking shame that they would put a ticket on your car: 1. get the ticket dismissed 2. get paid for your time in court = 1.5x your salary 3. request meter maid's pay for the day be docked and paid to you 4. request dismissal of said meter maid I never tried any of that in court, but it would be fun to try. Then I hit the last line and all the depression came back. I think #1 is all they will be able to do. | Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | Just a follow up since i know you guys were wondering. Got the ticket dismissed. Judge literally says, "Geez that was a stupid parking officer. If he were electricuted when putting the ticket on your car, he would have probably give you a ticket for that also!" All is almost well now. If i can only get out of that murder charge........
