| Psychopath Registered: May. 01  | This warm and fuzzy FU is aimed at my work. I fucking HATE the bullshit that goes on there. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, and as a matter of fact, you can't do what I do for a living if you don't love it bcz it'd drive you crazy otherwise. What I am here venting about is the hypcritical way in which the place is run. We are told by management that "Patient care (and/or) Patient satisfaction is our priority." To this I say BULLSHIT!! I'll tell you what your priority is... It's $$money$$!! You don't give a fuck about the patients! If you did, then: 1- We'd have enough staff to properly care for them. 2- You wouldn't squawk at the idea of calling in help when we say we need it. 3- You would listen to us when we tell you that the conditions in which you make us work are unsafe for the patients. 4- You'd spend some of the staffing budget on staff instead of paying some "consultant" to tell you what is wrong with the organization. To these points management has said, "We meet the state standard for safe staffing." (Barely) "What else can we do? There is a nursing shortage." (Does your nursing license say "exempt from real work"? No? Hmmmm, then put on scrubs and fucking HELP!) and my personal favorite... (told to us by our unit manager via phone) "I'll come in and help but only as a nurse's aide bcz I can't (don't know how to) take care of ICU patients." (How on earth did you become manager of a unit in which you are not certified to work?) So because of the above, and much more that I choose not to bore the board with I say this to my job... Don't fucking call me on my days off to come help you since you knowingly choose not to help us. Maybe you need to actually be so short staffed that you actually have to work and see for yourself how unsafe it is. Maybe you will then see our value, and what we bring to the table everyday so the patients don't suffer from your lack of responsibility. That's right. It's us that saves your ass on a daily basis, so why not try saving your own ass for a change?

| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | What is even worse is management that has already crucified you before you even have a chance to plead your case, and then sends you to another part of the city to "reflect" on your actions. Orders you to work countless hours of overtime. Keeping you away from family and loved ones, or working short staffed with incompetent co-workers. Sends out instructions that are contradictory and changes the rules as they see fit, usually out of personal spite for someone else. So I am feeling you here Mrs. Hopefully the new year will be brighter for us all. It ain't easy being greasy in a world full of cleanliness and you know, all that other madness. | ||||

If the general public had any idea what goes on behind the scenes and how badly at risk their health is just by being admitted, there would be a fucking revolution in the streets. The key, Mrs. Flock, is to keep talking about it, particularly to the local press and your elected legislators.  This space for sale. | Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | Mrs. M....unfortunately the medical profession like the teaching profession suffers from lack of funds...the powers that be would rather spend hundreds of millions on a baseball player, then help to pay for nurses and teachers that help the community and children. When will they learn that people come first esp. with health care and teachings...we don't all need sports but we all need health care and someone to teach our children.. Good luck Mrs. M...I for one am hoping that you get what you richly deserve, and thats a pay raise for taking care of all of us!!!

| Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | And to add insult to injury.... The local Sunday classifieds had 3.5 pages of nursing positions advertised, and did you know that NOT ONE of them was from my hospital??? (I know, I know, care?) but it just steams me more! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

I work in a non-union teaching hospital, and in my area, the place I work is the only game in town that meets my needs. Unless the other teaching hospital goes non-union, or one of the many community hospitals goes teaching, I am staying put.

Where I work we have 1199/SEIU and while they can suck at times they are the only thing that stops the hospital from anally raping and they managed to negotiate us one of the top salaries in the city. Maybe if you had management ball's being busted by some quality union reps the working conditions would improve. This space for sale. | ||||
