| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Pink...I didn't think that anyone really thought that the message board led to relationships breaking up, but what I was trying to get across was the idea that if you are already in a relationship and find yourself or your partner spending a lot of time on the computer etc; it is probably a sign that there are already problems in your relationship that someone is trying to escape. Lord Magus, you twisted my words. I never equated feelings with stupidity. However, when all the things being expressed blame EVERYTHING on someone else, somebody isn't thinking clearly. Period. Yes spitfire, I have been in long term relationships. Not currently, but it doesn't mean I don't remember. That butterfly thing I refered to in my previous post as horomones. Ask any couple who have been together >20 years. They do not always feel those butterflies. Love is much more than the hormonal response to whatever sex your interested in. Faceman, Do you understand the difference between whining, and expressing my own opinion? K1d, like I said before, nobody handed me my ass, and I am not one to wear my heart on my sleeve. I do feel many emotions, not only anger. GW, venting is fine, sometimes it's good. But when I see the volume of the gripes, without one mention of personal responsibility for some of the problems, I think that runs much deeper than just long term relationships. Raven, do you know the difference between bitching and expressing an opinion? Wage and NJ Strawberry. I am not the one getting all emotional about someone having a different view. The world is a cruel place, and everybody in it isn't always going to agree with you, get over it. Feelmyfunbags. Expressing emotions is okay, but once again, in my opinion, blaming everything on others, without acknowledging your own errors, is not healthy. I fuck up all the time. I analyze the shit out of it, trying to prevent a repeat of the fuckup. I am more critical of myself than the whole board combined, by huge margins. I am sorry that a few of you missed the point entirely. But I do not apologize for expressing my opinions. The women I've known, the friends I've had, the acquaintences I've known, my relatives, all helped me gain the experiences that make me me. To those of you who kept your heads in this, thank you. ps. Just so you don't think I don't care about others, I have another saying. Friends will help you move, real friends will help you move bodies. Yes, I have friends I would move bodies for. Anyone who actually knows me knows how hard I am on myself, and how much I blame myself for things. But the point that you seem to be missing is that this forum is for venting at other people, and sometimes to yell at yourself. This can be resolved in one of two ways... 1) you learn to convey your meaning more clearly.. or 2) I learn to better interpret phrases like: quote: to mean something other than "If you are a romantic, if you are in love, if you have faith in certain emotions, then you can't think clearly" and this: quote: to not mean "If you let your emotions get the better of you than you're stupid" ...Really, I still can't see it as anything other than what I first intepreted your meaning to be. Sorry, but my "Reasoned thinking" tells me you're afraid to acknowledge your emotions and others doing so makes you nervous. This is, of course, only MY interpretation, and, while it is rare, I have been known to be wrong on occasion. NO! I am NOT a Goth Dude!! Somewhere down the line, maybe some of the better thought out points here will make sense to me and make me rethink some portion of my opinion. Maybe even a majority of the posters to this thread have made some points. And just maybe, some small portion of what I say will eventually make sense to at least one other person who disagrees with me here. This wasn't started as a fight club deal, and I appreciate the tone most of you have used. Anyway, of the ones who chose to take my post personally here, you have no right complaining about my posts in the other FU threads. After all, I was only expressing my opinion. But at this point I have to step in and flex my imaginary internet muscles... It's obvious to me that you and Strawberry have some serious issues with each other.. that's fine. I will NOT, however, tolerate the obviously sincere threat of physical violence you just made. Please note, I find a distinct differrence between throwing out an occasional "I'll beat your ass" or "I'll hand you your ballies" in the heat of a discussion as compared to the calculated threat you just made. You want to argue with her, fine, take it to fight club.. but this is a warning, I come across another threat made by you in the same tone as the last one and you will be banned, no ifs ands or buts. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Tarp, You are the one being threatened to be banned because YOU are the one who clearly resorted to physical threats, Berry's "Hand you your balls in person" statement was not something I interpreted as a physical threat, as she referred back to previous arguments in that statement, I assumed she meant the "hand you your balls" comment as a metaphor for trouncing you verbally/with words. Also it may be a bit of my parents teaching coming through.. I can't change who I am and I do NOT appreciate someone threatening a female. Needless to say, don't try to justify yourself on this point, don't try to explain that you were responding to her, just DON'T THREATEN HER PHYSICALLY again, and all is well. If you try to harass me about this you'll just get on my nerves and make my ban-finger itchy.. so just accept it.. argue all you want, but don't resort to a physical threat against another female board member again.
