I just leased a Blazer from Hustedt Chevrolet, and my father bought my 17 year old brother a new Cavalier. I take time off of work yesterday to go pick up the cars with my dad. First off they charged $400 for a bare bones alarm system. They claimed that if I put in an aftermarket alarm it would void the electrical system warranties on both cars. So I pay them (800 for 2 alarms) and go to get the cars. My brothers cavalier comes out, and its spotless, armorall on the tires, the car is shining. They put the license plate on my Blazer and bring it to the door of their garage. I get into it and theres plastic wrap all over the car seats. I decide to pop the hatch before I drive it away and the rear seatbelts are sitting in the trunk, they haven't even installed them for me. Now I'm mad and I take a really close look at the car. They didn't even wash it, and left that white sticker tape that they put on the car to protect it, all over the door sills and a piece of foam rubber between the hood and the grille. Not to mention a few other cosmetic defects which needed taking care of. The salesman is giving me this line about how all I have to do is remove the tape and the car will be fine. Then I asked him, well why did you charge me a delivery fee if you aren't even going to properly prep the car for me. I read him the riot act and told him to have the car ready by noon the next day. Needless to say, its already 3pm the next day. As for my brothers car, it may have been clean and new, but they royally fucked up the $400 piece of shit alarm system. They wired it backwards. Positive to Negative and Negative to Positive and so on. So before he even got it home, the electrical system failed and the car shut off. They came within 5 minutes to pick it up and bring it back to the dealer and apologized profusely. I don't know if this is an omen or not. They promised to "make it up" to us. Yeah right. Fuck you Hustedt Chevrolet! Now give me my Blazer.

YOU ACTUALLY LISTENED TO THEM?

They contract out ALL alarm system work. If you are leasing (not buying and not planning on keep the vehicles) why bother.

Some dealers just care about making the sale. With the economy the way it is, they should have bent over backwards to make sure things are good to ensure customer satisfaction and future patronage. Make sure you get the 'make it up to you' in writing. Get shit like free oil changes/tuneups from them. Talk to the general manager/owner of the dealership

If I had the choice of either having terminal cancer or dealing with a car salesman at a dealership....Id say deal with the salesman but I'd really have to think about it.

I had to get the alarm, I'm parking in some bad areas. My friends need to move out to LI like normal people. As for the "make it up to you", they gave me 2 free oil changes. Big fucking deal, what does it actually cost them, $8 an oil change.

Girls get moist for the Chevy Blazer.
